all these mysteries. When i saw it on monday, i was looking at Mark in Contact before they threw the sheets over everyone. and he was just kind of sitting there. It was weird. I am glad I am not the only one who thought that Mark was in love with Roger. THat line "Theres ME, theres Mimi" .. it always made me wonder.

My two cents about what i think happened to Roger/April. Although it is possible for April to give it to Roger through sex, it isnt as likely for a female to give it to a male through intercourse. I always thought that they either shared needles or Roger contracted it from the needle he used then gave it to her. Either that or they dont even know. If they are using the same needles while having sex (well not actually at the same time) you might never know. But just because April found out first doesnt mean that she got it before Roger did.

Omigosh, I never realized that gap when Mark leaves!
I just assumed he was on his way over and meet up with Maureen when he saw Collins on the street and invited him back upstairs.

Another thing about Mark: His mom says "And we'll miss you tomorrow" refering to Xmas, but he says later on that he learned to dance at the JCC.

I've always wondered about that gap where mark leaves after "maureen calls" and then is mysteriously back when collins shows up. I guess that's one of the things that might've been clarified more if Jonathan Larson was still around. I always thought that the "and we'll miss u tomorrow" line from Mark's mom had to do with Chanuka (ok, I know I spelled that wrong and all my Jewish friends are going to laugh at me but it is late and I am too tired to figure out how to spell it correctly.... some one correct my spelling please!) I never really thought she meant christmas.... hmmmmmmm.....

I just mean, it's Dec 24 that day she calls and tomorrow would be Xmas. Hanukkah is 8 days long so I don't really understand why she would pick Dec 25 in particular, if Hanukkah really conresponded with Xmas in 1996 anyway, I don't remember.
Of course, there's always the possibility that Mark is a Cashew like me so he could celebrate both holidays...

o0o. Oh so much information is being uncovered by this little ol' website. So Mark was secretly dating Ethan, who he always spent some "quality time" with before he helped Maureen with her latest performaces. So THAT was why he disappeared in that short period of time in ACT I. Maureen ALSO dated Ethan. Mark and Maureen found out about each other's affair with the imfamous Ethan. Mark was SO upset about both that he dumped her. Maureen then turned to Joanne. But Mark couldnt give up Ethan though, so he keeps him around as his secret boyfriend.

haha. We can open up a detective agency! Now all we need is a name for it. I doubt there is anything between Roger and Angel. But then again there could be more outside people involved. o0o there can be more Ethans running around!! *thinks of all the possibilities

Ok so this is what i think about the April/Roger thing:
I think taht they both had HIV but when april slits her wrist and leaves the notes she has AIDS so he knows that the virus has taken her and he mnight not have that much time left..... how they got it is most likely through drug use and then sex. Who got it first would proberbly be april because she dies of AIDS first. I dotn knwo but thats just what I think.

I also think that Mark runs to talk to talk to maureen and finds out what is goin on with jo Ann and the sound system and fixes it because we dont hear from Maureen till the end of act 1.

And a question to through out there..... I have seen rent 3 times. 2x in NY and the last time i saw it was when it was touring and came down to RI. This is when i noticed Angel standing above the stage where the lights are but not that visable in all white (after he dies and in his "contact" costume) now i figured it was his "spirit" watching over his new friends but i didnt see this on Broadway and i had seats in the same area. Am i the only one that noticed this or soemthing or was i seeing things. I wasnt 100% sure it was him but there was def. someone standing in all white and when he came out for his bow it was just a sheet. I had to watch the show not him the whole time u know. Just let me knwo what u guys think.

Well April committed suicide so the fact that she "died" first is really irrevelant. I always assumed Mimi/Roger/April got AIDS from drugs and Angel/Collins got it through intercourse. Just showing both sides of the way you can contract it. As far as I know neither Collins or Angel did drugs so am i correct in assuming that? Also in RENT they show both sides to AIDS. One with Angel, the death part to it. It is a definate reailty. But they also show that AIDS is something you live with as well - an on going struggle. This is shown through Mimi NOT dying in the end. So I like to figure in Jonathan Larson wanted to show the life and death in AIDS that he also wanted to show both ways of contracting it.

And dont worry SammyGal I am still thinking of a name. When i do it will be SPECTACULAR!! RENTdetectives? lol like Petdetective. Sry its late.
