Rent message board? I'm new... :o/

Ok don't kill the newbie here --- This for some reason seems like a more complicated message board system than I'm used to. Is this the only general message board for all broadway shows, or are there more specific groups for the specific shows. The one and only message board I'm interested in is the one about RENT! --I don't know why I'm only posting here now, when I've been a fan for years. But anyway, HI to everyone!! I have nobody in real life to share my RENT love with.. :o( I wish i had somebody to go to the premiere with!!

Nice to meet you!
This is a message board for all things Broadway related
There are a lot of Rentheads here, but not exculsively
Compulsive Bowlers is another message board exculsively for Rentheads

I just want to make sure I don't miss out on anything! I'm so disappointed because I live in NJ but very close to NYC, and I've missed Anthony appearances !!??? Because I had no idea about them, didn't know about any particular Rent message board that would give good info about what the cast is up to. But now I know, here I am! Who else is going to the premiere? Do any of you know if the general public are allowed to go to this, or is it strictly for VIPs?

Welcome to our little (or maybe not so little, with the people who have posted or will at least see the posts on this board) corner of the world! We are a strong group on this board, us RENT lovers.

Hi Sarah, if you mean the official premiere at the Ziegfeld on 11/17, there have been a few contests/auctions for fans to get tickets, but other than that it seems to be closed to the public. There was a press release about it today - you can find it on this site, I believe. It's at 7pm and billed as a red carpet event.

The next appearance by Anthony that I know about is on Monday night. There's a benefit called Brilliant Mistake which features the music of Elvis Costello. Anthony will be singing, as will Adam Pascal. Tickets are $100 and available through Friends in Deed, the group which inspired the Life Support scene in RENT.

There's also a benefit screening of the film on 11/22, followed by a Q&A with Anthony, Tracie and possibly other cast members. Here's a link:

Wow, thanks for that info -- So wait how do I get in on this Screening with the Post show Q&A with the cast. The tickets for that are $150 but there are rush tickets? I wouldn't count on being lucky enough to get the rush, but I don't think I have $150 right now. Where is that screening for that going to be? Thanks again for the info.

There's going to be a lottery, but I think there are $75 and $50 advance tickets. It's at Symphony Space, on the Upper West Side. More information *should* be popping up soon.

wait a minute. help me -- i'm about to buy the $75 tickets...but i need to make sure that the q&a aftershow is going to be included in that. do you guys have any idea? because it says there that $150 includes the post show thing. i'm confused. ...why exactly is it $75 or $50 if all you're seeing is the movie in a nice theater?

please respond soon, i want to buy...

The screening includes the Q&A. If you pay $150, you get to go to a party.

lol - I just bought the $75 tickets...I got row F, completely in the center. Should be great!! I can't believe I just did that though, how spontaneous. I didn't even look to see where the hell the place is...meh, in the city somewhere, I'll find it!

Yay, so excited. Seriously you guys I'm head over heels for Anthony Rapp, so I'm excited that I'll finally get to see him in person, and hopefully meet him afterwards. But I guess we'll see.

ljay, where did you find that board? It looks like a poor man's CB. I even click on one of the threads; someone asked a question and everyone responded "Check Compulsive Bowlers".

hey just wanna welcome you to the boards...im not all knowledgable like emcee and some of the others but it is an enjoyable board...i know what its like to miss everything in nyc...im aphilly girl myself. haha
