How can you have any idea what kind of profit this picture turn?
"Smart! And into all those exotic mystiques -- The Kama Sutra and Chinese techniques. I hear she knows more than seventy-five. Call me tomorrow if you're still alive!"
I somehow don't see this as an evenly paid cast. Of the original broadway cast members, some have gone on to be more famous than others so unless they negotiated as a group, which I doubt, some performers we will be getting quite a bit more than others.

hmm. from highest to lowest, what is a good guess? maybe rosario, taye, jesse, adam, anthony, idina, wilson, tracie. or maybe idina would be higher up. hmm.
Taye Diggs, Rosario Dawson, and maybe Martin are known somewhat outside of this forum. The rest are pretty much Broadway types, unknown to the general public. No star here is going to "lure" people in. $$$ will reflect that.
A very top star like Nathan Lane or Matthew Broderick willmake 100000/week. Most make much less--Christina Applegate, for example, is the reason for Charity, and makes 10000/week. This is nothing compared to film/TV.
Rosario is making close to $1M -- the others are working closer to scale (150-350G). Almost all film contracts give actors a small percentage of B.O. profit and from dvd/soundtrack sales, etc.
Keep in mind that the original cast or RENT were all given (pretty graciously) a point share in the property by the Larson estate. So they all still get royalty checks from all theatrical productions of the show (including Broadway)and probably received something from the initial sale of the film rights.
It was a low budget movie so no one is making a huge paycheck. Sag Run of the Film minimum is around $70,000. No one makes huge amounts of money these days, but you earn a ton on the back end if the movie is successful. A client in "The Sixth Sense" who made scale for about 3 days work, and got a residual check after the DVD was released that was about $60,000.
If we're discussing ranks of fame, and assuming that it would've had a role in how much they were paid, why would you say that Anthony Rapp is on the bottom? He's certainly done more film work than some of the other cast members, which should count for something.
Rapp would not be the bottom, I'm sure Thoms or Heredia would be. Come to think of it, I don't think any of them would lure people to the movie, so i'm doubting it'd make a difference. I'm sure Rosario is making the most, follow by Taye, and Martin. Menzel is probably the biggest lure of the "striictly theatre" people, followed by Pascal, but who knows if they're making more than the others?
