husk_charmer, I agree COMPLETELY. Jennifer Laura Thompson reinvented that role.
The role is written quite poorly, but you either can be like Kristin Chenoweth and charm the audience through it, which worked very well, or be like Jennifer Laura Thompson and actually try to act through it.
No other Glinda has done so since.
