I really think that it would encourage more accomplished performers to come in and replace, and even possibly give a worthy production a longer run. Why should we only have one star Rose, Don Quixote, Desiree, etc. a decade, when we can have several brilliant actors and actresses take a stab at these roles?

Hands down Bernadette. The woman deserves SOME award for her performance! I adore Stritch too and wish she could also be recognized in some way, not necessarily the Tonys though.
I'm also with those that wish they would at least try it!
