Replacements in shows that would of won the TONY

Would HAVE, or contracted to would've.
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

Jonathan Pryce in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Harvey Firestein in Fiddler

Ironically both were up or consideration for the Replacement Tony debacle
"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel

Anne Heche in Proof--she was brilliant.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

After last night's performance of Next to Normal I can fully say Marin Mazzie. She surpassed Alice Ripley not only with her vocals but her beautiful acting as well. She had me in tears.

I really wish that they would at least try the Tony for best replacement. I really think that it would encourage more accomplished performers to come in and replace, and even possibly give a worthy production a longer run. Why should we only have one star Rose, Don Quixote, Desiree, etc. a decade, when we can have several brilliant actors and actresses take a stab at these roles?

I agree, Broadwayboy. It could help more shows stick around instead of how it is now, with a run of only one year being a longshot.

Hands down Bernadette. The woman deserves SOME award for her performance! I adore Stritch too and wish she could also be recognized in some way, not necessarily the Tonys though.

I'm also with those that wish they would at least try it!
"I've always secretly longed for an actress to get to the top of the cherry picker and projectile vomit all over the guards below."- Wonderwaiter in the "Defy Gravity?" thread. ~~~~~~~~My dream? Sutton Foster as Cassie in A Chorus Line
