Hi list! I'm sorry if this has been posted, but does anyone know who will be replacing Brooke in "Wonderful Town"? I know she's leaving Jan. 30 and I just got tickets for Christmas for Feb. So, is there any news on who will be taking over? Thanks, and Merry Christmas!
Are these all assumptions and hopes (I would love it if Donna Murphy came back) or are these facts (I would HATE it if Reba took over). I'm not thrilled with Brooke's singing, but I've read that she's enjoyable in this show.
I wasn't that thrilled with Brooke's singing either, but I still found her enjoyable. In fact the whole show was very enjoyable. Jennifer Hope Wills as Eileen, however, stole the show for me. She sings like and angel, and is a joy to watch.
Awesome! Hank, thank you for sharing. I'm really looking forward to it, and the more positive things I hear, the more I can't wait. Can't wait to find out for sure who will be playing Ruth...maybe I'll just have to wait and see.
Julia Murney is AMAZING -- but I think she's a bit young for the role. (Except I saw her as mother in Ragtime and she was incredible, so nevermind...). I'd like to see Bebe Neuwirth or Karen Ziemba take it over.
I thought the producers were talking to Susan Lucci taking over for Brooke. The sticking point is Susan's wish to drop the Wednesday matinees and play only 7 perfs a week.
Ugh, close the freaking show already. Frand and Bary drive me nuts sometime with their stunt casting. Wonderful Town isn't even doing stellar bussiness with Brooke Shields, but the running costs are low, so I'm sure they are making some profit. Susan Lucci? Ugh, she cannot sing. She likes to think she can, but-not so much.
