You know who would be great? Vicki Lewis! She was in a sitcom on NBC a couple of years ago, "Three Sisters." She was also on "NewsRadio." She replaced Bebe Neuwirth in "Chicago" and she's done a few other shows. I would LOVE to see her take over, especially when I see the show!

Thanks show2n2! I thought of it last night while watching an episode of "Seinfeld." She was on, and hysterical as usual, and I remembered that she's done great work in musicals. Who can I pass this idea on to? hehe

I got to see Brooke in Wonderful Town and thought she was amazing, as well as Jennifer Hope, and the whole cast, it was a delightful show! I agree with you Hank, she does sing like an angel!

I saw Brooke also.. she was GREAT to watch.. but her vocals.. another story haha. Jennifer Hope STEALS the show. She was AMAZING!!! I had no idea that Brooke was so damn tall and lanky!

in all seriousness i was watching a behind the music on Jessica Simpson and i see her as replacing brooke sheilds, or i could see her being on broadway in general. she has that voice

A dancer might dream to see her name in lights and mean it, but all she really dreams is to make someone else feel the way she did when she first saw a dancer. And that is so beautiful-Anonymous

I can not see Jessica Simpson as Ruth Sherwood. If she were playing anyone in that show, it would have to be Eileen. Anyway, I thought the show was closing when Brooke leaves on Jan. 30.

Does Sweet Charity have a theatre yet? If it doesn't .then I'm sure the Wiesslers will replace their Wonderful Town with thier Charity. Again, this stunt casting is awful. Susan Lucci is not appropriate for Ruth nore would she be any good. And I still think that the only reason Brooke got raves was because critics thought she was going to suck and she didn't. Not great, not bad, but better than expected. And if they were going to stunt cast, they could do a better job than Erika Kane. Ruth doesn't have to sing that well (Rosalind Russell, hello!), but has to be a brilliant comedian and a so so dancer. NOt that any of that matters to the Weisslers. I"m sure Sheena Easton or Deborah Harry will play Ruth. hehe.

I like the casting of Vicki Lewis. I think she would be good for the role.

And why all the Brooke Bashing. Sure she may not have the talents of say a Linda Eder but she has thrown herself into the show and has worked as hard as she can for it. And the critics see it.

Actually I heard that Idina Menzel was leaving WICKED to replace Brooke Sheilds.

Anyone who saw Lucci in ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, raise your hand. All three of you.

Okay, I did (for free), and rather than a shocking debacle, it was worse--like mediocre summer stock, circa 1978, when package shows played Westbury. Leaving the singing out of the equation, Lucci is no Ruth, and simply isn't a comedienne. And she sold too few tickets in ANNIE -- don't think the Weissler's haven't done their homework.

Why does playbill.com say that it's still an open-ended closing? I'm sure I could get my money back if it does close, and my tickets are for Feb. correct?
