Posted: 4/24/07 at 9:00pmIt's a bet unfair to say that an 18 year old may not be able to handle the part. Look at how well Jordin Sparks is handling herself on American Idol. She can REALLY sing! And she's only 17 years old.

And look what happened when they did cast a 17 year old. We got Arianda Fernandez. I've never heard of anyone liking her when she was on the tour.
Seriously, though, it all depends on the performer.

Actually, Arianda was A FIERCE actress...who borught the house down with her performance. She may not be the most amazing vocalist...but she certainly brought me to utter tears with her performance. She was very real.
AND her replacement Krystal Brown was only 18 when she got the part...and she played to great reviews on each tour stop.
Its NOT about age at all...its about TALENT

Arianda's problems had nothing to do with her age. Vocally, she just couldn't handle the role, from the very beginning. It was unfair to her and to the fans to allow her to continue attempting it for nine months. Krystal Brown was not 18 when she was cast. She's 20 and graduated from AMDA in 2005.
Age isn't the issue, when it comes to the young ones. The older ones, like Karmine? Possibly. One of the best Angels ever was Jai Rodriguez when he was first cast at age 18. Matt Caplan was a great Mark when he first joined the Benny tour at age 19. Ditto with Maggie Benjamin at age 19 with the Canadian cast.

"No, she SAYS she is. There's a difference."
wait, are you suggested that she's lying when she says that? I don't think that was Jon Larson's intention.

She could be. It's not out of the realm of possibility.
Did Jonathan tell you that in a seance?

Oh sorry, i wasnt aware that the term "I don't THINK that was his intention" meant that I was posative that that was the correct statement. I apologize and try not to use it in the future.
But I actually am curious if that's what you were suggesting because i've never heard of or thought of that, but you seemed pretty sure of yoursel with that statement. Plus she's supposed to look 16 anyway.
