re: Rich Girl by Gwen Stefani

When I first heard Gwen's version, I thought it was a remix of the reggae one. (I was at work so I couldn't hear very well). But, the girls still sound like the originals. Is Gwen using them on the vocals, or is that just Gwen?

Raith - The singers are Michie Mee and Louchie Lou...or something like that.
"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

It must be just her - the only vocalists listed are her and Eve.

Thank you very much ONEANDONLY. Raith wasn't going to allow herself to understand my explanation, no matter what, so thanks for getting it through to her. Stefani ripped off a couple of obscure artists vision and is going to have the biggest hit of her career with it. Michi and Lou did something very clever with a never before covered Broadway chestnut. Stefani did nothing to make it her own, she blatantly used every single "hooky" and inspired moment from them and basically hoped know one would figure it out. OneandOnly is right in saying that, there is no possible way that the producers of that record hadn't heard that version before doing Stefani's. I would venture to guess, they played it over and over and matched it note for note.

Justice - those names are not listed. I'm wondering if they were the actual writers of that version or if someone else is and is credited, or if perhaps that version is owned by a record label that might be credited on Stefani's cd.

it is weird, but I think it's cool. If it is imspired by Fiddler, I think it's cool that we are Mixing Musical Theatre with the main stream of America - Playing Musical on the radio. It's like when they re-did Hard Knock Life. Ha!

The only songs of Stefani's CD that I LOVE are "Cool" and "The Real Thing". Those should be hit singles soon.
