Can't help but think of this song that a schoolmate of mine wrote for the show every time I hear about it.

Posted: 4/5/07 at 9:35pmI go to the same school here in Richmond with Joe and its just awful that this happened to him. We as students here don't have the best relationship with Richmond but nothing this bad has happened at least since I've been here. I'm not best friends with Joe but he was always very nice to me whenever we passed by each other. I hope he gets better soon. We have a concert and vigil scheduled in his honor.

So awful.
I was in a production of that play a couple of years ago.
I wonder if the attack and the play are related? We may never know, but I hope that at least they catch the scum.

Posted: 4/5/07 at 10:10pmWhat's wierd is that there have been at least three attacks on EC students in the last week. Nothing as brutal as this but I just find it mind-boggling.

Posted: 4/5/07 at 11:47pmI know hate happens all the time, and all around us, but an event such as this, brings to light how ignorant people truly can be. I am sending love and prayers Joe's way.

Actually, Indy tends to be a lot more tolerant than the rural areas. I can give you advice on the theatre scene in Indy if you'd like KelRel just PM me. Richmond is actually right on the border with Ohio while Indy is in the center of the state. They are 70 miles apart. It is very sad. Ball State is about an hour away from Richmond. Ball State did the Laramie Project several years back and I can't remember if they faced any opposition from the community. (Before my time at Ball State.) Thoughts and prayers from up here.

GUN -
Ball State's production went over quite well with no threats that I'm aware of.
Bill J. refers to it as his most proud dirrectorial accomplishment.
This is just plain sad.
