As much as I think it should go to a playwright who is emerging, perhaps they gave to to Kirchner so it will give the award some "name recognition".

And I totally disagree with the person who said that AIA is a bore. It was an amazing piece of theater.

General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

Matt, I mean the show is a financial/critical bomb. The numbers and review are anything but good, and that's what Riedel not too-delicately hinted at towards the end of the article.

i just hope i get to see "TALE OF TWO CITIES" on the 4th before it closes. i haven't seen a lot of new shows this season and that stinker just SCREAMS my name!

I was at the theater on Saturday (seeing NYMF's About Face) and the usher said that Fela was transferring....but given the economy, anything can change.
