Actually, yes, a few of them were.
I never said it wasn't going to win, I am just saying that I think some of the choreography is more out of place and ridiculous than inventive.

Wanna Be A Foster, I'd agree with you that Jones has the choreography Tony wrapped up for SA. Great, exciting, MODERN stuff going on there, and fits perfectly, thematically, with the juxtaposing of the story timeframe and the music.
As for Best Leading Actress, Ebersole may as well have her acceptance speech written now. It's a legendary performance. I do agree with whoever said that had this Encores! edition of Follies been on Broadway, Murphy could have been a real contender. Looking forward to seeing what she does with LoveMusik.

Bill Jones has done an interesting job of staging SA but it is hardly TONY worthy.
BLONCE, PIRATE QUEEN, POPPINS and even Twyla have a better chance at winning the Choreography Award.

Lea is in the BEST ACTRESS Category.
(where she unfortunately has very little chance of a nom)
I think SA has a better chance of getting any award but Choreography, there is really very little "dance", it is mostly staging.

Posted: 2/12/07 at 4:17pmI think Miss Jones has it as well--dance legend, and almost every review has mentioned his work. Just sayin...

I didn't realize that Lea Michele was being nominated in the "lead" category (if she does, indeed, get a nomination). Damn.

Ebersole has this in the bag. But nonetheless, I think the nominees will be:
Audra McDonald, 110 in the Shade
Laura Bell Bundy, Legally Blonde
Christine Ebersole, Grey Gardens
Donna Murphy, LoveMusik
Kristin Chenoweth, The Apple Tree
Likely to be left out are Lea Michele (Spring Awakening), Stephanie J. Block (The Pirate Queen), and Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins).
I'd love to see Michele get a nod over McDonald or even (as much as I love her) Chenoweth. She was spectacular in Spring Awakening.

There is zero chance Audra will fail to be nominated. Her name in the playbill alone is a virtual guarantee of a nomination. If Lea Michelle sneaks in, it will be over Bundy. The other four are locks.
eta: don't forgot to add Debra Monk to the list, or Rath will eat you alive, you and your unborn children.
