I don't like that once again Broadway is running a new talent out of town. Last time, it was Boy George writing a totally orginal pop score and Reidel seizing on every move the production made and trying to find fault. I completely agreed with George's remarks in the documentary SHOW BUSINESS regarding how odd it was that the very same people who want the musical and B'way to survive are the ones attacking any new, famous blood that come near it.
I'm not saying one has to like the score or the shows, but attacking their efforts and swirling their productions like vultures is unnecessary and destructive. If they didn't want pop scores, then that would be one thing. But then there is ROCK OF AGES, a jukebox musical. If they want to attack hubris, like in the case of Mel Brooks, then that would make sense. But this just seems like nastiness and short-sightedness.
AND...
Wanna Be A Foster, when I first saw your post, I thought you said, "He's a cute bottom." ... I think I'll just leave that alone for now.

Haha, o Brick... :)
I agree about your assessment though. They shouldn't ever drive people away, especially people with potential like Boy George and Dolly.

Riedel is BUSTED.
Someone give that boy a makeover!
WannaBe would think he's "cute"... standards are low for him, it seems.
Can't the bitch afford a nice teeth bleaching?
Dolly -- and only Dolly -- is the selling point on "9 to 5."
Oh, Riedel...quite the drama queen. As if nobody has ever heard of the classic comedy film with the iconic title. It's ridiculous articles like this and the media's Dolly obsession that lead people to believe that she is more responsible for the show than the producers or director. For Dolly's involvement, a Tony nomination is a boost, not a bust. But hey, way to spin.
