Rights and Royalties Houses

Don't even know if "houses" is the correct term. ANYWAY, I'm trying to create a list of the different houses that carry the rights/royalties for theatrical shows. I know I'm missing some in my list, so please help me out.

R&H

Samuel French

Tams Witmark

Dramatic Publishing

The Musical Company

Playscripts

Broadway Play Publishing


What am I missing?

For those unfamiliar, both of these are great sources for middle and high school one acts.

I think we got them all. Of course there could be some small ones we missed, but the big few are for sure MTI, Samuel French, RnH, and TW. Can one not get the Webber shows from RnH anymore? Or is it strictly the Musical Company now? Granted I always found that odd that RnH had the Webber shows, but then again there's plenty of other non RnH shows they license.

LOL Playscripts gets a bad rep and I can sort of see why, it's def pretty juvenile scripts but I will say it has a god few scripts there. Plenty of pro theaters use these shows. It has the best adaptation of Pride and Prejudice that I know of. The other licensable ones I know of are...not great.

They're called licensing agencies....

Broadway Play Publishing— they don’t handle any musicals, but they have all of Tony Kushner’s plays, and I believe all of Neil LaBute’s as well; plus lots of Jose Rivera, Emily Mann, etc.

Strictly TMC now. Webber started off at MTI back in the day, then moved everything to R&H around 2001 or so. Now, more recently -- I wanna say in the last year or so --he decided to take direct control of his licensing in North America, as he already had in the UK and Europe. Productions that were licensed by R&H before a certain date last January were still allowed to go forward, but that was the limit."

Wait this is fascinating, I didn't know this at all as that was way before I gotten into theatre...Also explains why his shows are still listed on the RnH site as well. I assume that'll change eventually once that period has passed.
