It appears he had one problem piling up after enough and he had just reached his breaking point.

His money problems were not helped by CBS stiffing him with a mere $ 125 K per episode salary.
These days this is really low especially for someone of his stature.
Actually, he was paid $165,000 an episode and only got involved due to David Kelly's involvement in the project. He was fine financially and his depression started way before his surgeries.

Roxy read a "friend" of Williams's testimony in a British tabloid online. So you won't dissuade him that money issues were a primary factor in the suicide.
This has hit me harder than any celebrity death ever has... I'm still processing.
