I had to share this minor freak-out moment I had this morning.
I was sitting in my Opera Workshop class and we were discussing when we were going to go see my professor's (Bill Bowers - the original Zazu in "The Lion King") shows. ("Under a Montana Moon" and "It Goes Without Saying") I said, "I'd prefer to go on a Saturday rather than Sunday because on Sunday, you get the geriatric club." a friend of mine replied, "I'd like to go Saturday, too, because Desperate Housewives comes on Sunday." "oh yeah," I replied.
"I have a friend on Desperate Housewives," my professor pipes up. "we were, like, best friends in college."
"who's your friend?" I innocently ask.
"Roger Bart," he replies...then continues to talk about seeing him Martha stuffing a turkey with her. "I e-mailed him like, 'am I hallucinating or were you stuffing a turkey with Martha Stewart?'"
I sincerely could not catch my breath for a good ten minutes. I have been in love with Roger Bart for 4+ years. he is not only my favorite B'way actor, but my favorite actor PERIOD and my favorite singer.
I. am. in. love. with. him.
I told Bill (my professor) at the end of class to explain why I was freaking out and he said, "oh, okay. I'll e-mail him and tell him."
I completely think that is one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced in my life...and I just had to share.

That is such a small world! If your professor happens to email Roger, tell him there's a 21-year old girl out there in PA who completely loves him.
Will he be on DH Sunday? I hope his character didn't die, I will be crushed. My roommates mock me because I am so enamoured with him, I blush if you just so much as mention his name to me. Ah, for silly middle-school girly crushes!
I met him outside The Producers last May and basically gushed how much I loved him - I think I scared him a bit.

he was a guest on the View and he informed everyone that george was dead. it makes me sad, seeing him on desperate housewives made the show worth while

they can't kill off George. we didn't actually see him die. besides, with all the hell he put Bree through, I seriously doubt they'd kill him off in such a simple way.
I could be wrong. it would be ironic if he brought on his own demise with pills.
ohhhhhhhh...*shudders* I love him. I. love. him. soooooooo talented.
and yeah - when I found out about his singing "I Can Go the Distance" a few years ago, I listened to it for hours on end. sometimes, I still fall asleep to it.
okay, so that's a lie.
but seriously. I love it. I love him.
let's start a "Roger is God" fan group.

Posted: 11/30/05 at 2:02amI think they did kill off George. My mom told me that she watched The View on Monday and that Roger was a guest. She said he talked about killing off characters on DH, so I'm pretty sure that means George has indeed died.

Posted: 11/30/05 at 9:12amNot to be a thrill kill - but I hope he's dead. His character annoys the hell out of me. And his death creates more drama for her...so, good for Bree.

Posted: 11/30/05 at 11:31amSpeaking of coincidences--I totally know Bill Bowers! I haven't seen him in a couple years, but he's from my town. I, however, did not know he knew Roger Bart.

Roger was on the View the other day and SWEARS that his character is gone, kaput, dead as a door nail, so dare we hope he will have some time to renew his passion for the stage?
BTW, he is great in the Producers movie...go see it.
