icantbelive, have you seen TTB? 90% of the book is Jon talking, the majority of which consists of monologues. If I remember correctly, there is only one song in the show in which he does not sing, and only one song in which he sings backup. The rest of the score he is a lead singer, either as a solo with backup or as a duet. Had this been on Broadway and eligible for a Tony, there is no doubt in my mind that the role of Jon would be considered a leading role.
