I doubt there's the rush that there was last year for Meryl Streep in Mother Courage .... but anyone have any idea what time is best to pick up tickets at the Public? How have the lines been?

I don't know how it's been lately, but I went to the first preview last week, and you could have gotten on line at 1PM (when tickets are distributed) and gotten seats. There usually isn't much of a frenzy for tickets early in the run unless someone of Streep-like stature is involved. That said, I'd probably get there around 10 during the week and a little earlier for a weekend show.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

I went to a preview. Got in line at the Public on Astor Place at 1pm and had tickets by 1:15.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

I haven't been to a show there in years but I remember it selling out kind of quickly.

My friend works in the box office at the park and she said that the earlier you get in line the better. I am not sure what the line at the public is like.

We went saturday and missed getting tickets by twenty people and we got in line at 1pm. I was told to get there around 10am. One of the Public Theatre people told us someone camped out at 4am and how that was not necessary. I agree.....At 4am the last place I want to be is Central Park.
