This lil' show seemes to be building quite the drama backstage. Can't comment on all of it but the edgy nature of the production and Rosie's less than delicate handling of uh, everything is making for a potent brew.Show doctor number one already is burnt out. Hmmmm.......

Is anyone seeing Taboo tommorow night? I know my roomate is and I would get his opinion accept he's a boy george freak so he would love it even if it sucked.

Wow. I guess nerves were running high, as they had to cancel their preview. I saw another report about this where they also mentioned that Esparza has a habit of walking around buck-nekkid backstage or something like that. I thought "so what? That goes on in every show I've ever seen/heard/been in."

It wasn't really Raul missing a few hours rehearsal that delayed first preview for 4 days. They were doing some work on the first act, as well as some minor sound and scenery problems (bits of it moving that shouldn't have been)

I'm right there with you girl.....Although, I prefer in most cases to wear a robe, if I have to be naked or half-naked for a lengthly period of time. So what. I would consider myself blessed if I got to see Raul like that everyday.

I really haven't looked forward to this show since I first heard about it. Boy George and the entire 80s club scene just isn't very appealing. And the preview clips and even the songs that we've heard of aren't that great. I don't know, it just doesn't generate any excitement for me...And the backstage drama isn't helping.

Rosie O'Donnell had her name added to the marquis because they needed to generate more ticket sales and she thought her name would help. If anything, her name associated with this show makes me not want to see it. I am going for two things ONLY: Raul Esparza and Cary Shields. The end.

eh.. naked Raul doesn't excite me a lot.. he isn't really my type.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't tickets skyrocket when she started in Seussical? I think sales dropped when she left, and I believe when I finally saw it (after Rosie left) the merchandise guy was telling me they really wanted to get her back to do another stint because sales plumeted after she left. So, like her not - she does sell some tickets.....

Yes, THE SEUSSICAL did jump at the box office when she joined the cast.

It does not say Raul appears nude on stage, just that he likes to flaunt it backstage. Sorry. Maybe he has an opening for a dresser?

True - when she's IN the show. I hardly think putting her name on the marquis because she is the producer is going to help.

Didn't Rosie say that there is a role in the show for a big loud funny woman who can sing? As an actress she really wanted the part, but as a producer she wanted someone who could REALLY sing. You gotta give her credit for that. The ironic thing is her name as an actress may have sold more tickets.
Ah, the decisions of a producer. Cast for artistic reasons or for financial...Of course there is nothing to say she can not go into the show if sales are slow..so maybe she is going about this the right way after all.
