Just got a thing in the mail today about roundabout doing a musical reading of I Can Get It For You Wholesale. All the cars says is that Trip Cullman is directing. I wonder who's attached to this!

There was another reading of the show in June that had a great cast, including Katie Rose Clarke, Nick Cordero, Christopher Fitzgerald, Santino Fontana, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Beth Leavel, Caissie Levy, Lindsay Mendez, Luke Smith, and more.
Don't know when the new one is, or who will return, but they weren't messing around with that group.

Wow, this is not even on their website. Between this and Kiss Me Kate, perhaps Roundabout is forgoing a full production in favor of star-studded musical readings? Have they ever done two in one year?

Was a cast list ever published for the previous reading, I'd love to know who played who! Also when is the Roundabout reading and are tickets available to the public?

Has anyone read the libretto recently? I've heard its not too bad, and haven't listened to the score much. Would love to read it.

The libretto's not bad. The women get the best material and carry the show. Harry Bogen kicks off the plot in Act One but fades a bit in Act Two. He's gotten what he wanted so the focus shifts to the effect his "business" has had on the other characters. The novel is narrated by Harry and has a crueler ending. The musical has a different, but not particularly happy, end.
