I'm thinking that the Japanese "Roxie", Yonekura Ryoko, will pair up with Amra Faye Wright from April 28-- May 6th (when AFW leaves the show). It's sort of like a musical theatre goodwill exchange. Amra did a Japanese "Velma", so she'll be on hand to help with Yonekura's American debut on Broadway. After that,it is possible that Pamela Anderson might start on May 7th, give or take. from RC in Austin, Texas... a big fan of "Chicago". P.S. With regards to the next Velma, I'm not sure. Usually, any upcoming "Velma" has had previous experiences with the show. It would be great to have an awesome veteran like Terra C McLeod (see pic) be on board to help out Pamela. I saw her (twice) in the national tour last June 2011. She is FANtastic!
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
Terra is very good. Saw her paired with Michelle Williams in 2010, who I also thought was amazing. I missed Nikka Graff Lanzarone in the role, so hopefully she'll return sometime, though she will probably not be the next replacement. She's tied up with Into the Woods until the end of May.
