His work on All That Jazz was downright incredible. He completely, one hundred percent deserved that Oscar. The film was marvelous too (should have been Oscar #2 for Fosse), but I don't know if it'd be as excellent without Scheider.
That is startling, He was one of the un-recognised greats in Hollywood from All That Jazz to lesser seen appearances in films like Dracula II: Ascension (in which He played a blind priest Who felt more compassion for the Count than He deserved) He always did it right. As sad as this news is to us all We can take comfort in that it means that without Captain Bridger We will be spared any big screen return of Sea Quest.
