Rumor: Nine to be Filmed?

A BroadwayWorld.com user reports that negotiations are under way with the principal cast, the Roundabout Theatre Company, the Kaplen Foundation and Maury Yeston about filming the musical Nine for release on DVD and for broadcast, most probably on PBS.

Anyone else heard anything about this?

WOW u think the film wont burn up when they try to record A Phone Call from the Vatican? I remember they wouldn't let Anita wear her orig outfit on network tv> TOO SEXY!

That would be so cool!!! Since I saw it I was hoping they would consider to put it on DVD. Let's cross our fingers!

That would be fantastic! I would never get to see it otherwise. Earlier I posted something about obc movies. This is a great rumor.

No, I haven't heard about it, but I've been hoping for it since I saw the show in May. Hopes were rekindled when I saw it again last week and noticed how much it has improved.

I've been thinking how great it would be if PBS's "Great Performances" recorded it for broadcast. They'd probably have to air a disclaimer before it or have Jane K. tone down a few moves in order to show it, but this cast is definitely worth preserving on film or disc.

And if they release it on DVD, let's hope they include director's commentary, making of material, interviews, etc.!

They'll have to do it soon though before Laura, Chita, and/or Jane leave for other shows. . .

It is definitely worth being filmed. I really hope they do this. If they film any show on Broadway this season, let it be NINE!

AGH! I would be thrilled beyond belief if they filmed the show. It's my favorite of the Broadway season.
The only thing that would make me happier than this is if they extend beyond the November closing date.

An extension would be cool. But they might want to go out with a bang and while they're still selling out. And I hope they do film it and soon.
