Rumors of Bailey Hanks as Kim in 'Bye, Bye, Birdie' are just rumors...

She will be on a cruise, where fans will be able to meet her right when rehearsals would have begun; unless she found a way to skip a week of rehearsals, which I doubt.

Getting around rehearsal isn't that hard....IF talks ever did get "serious" if she was open with already existing plans, they very well could work around it.

I am not giving any validity TO the rumor, nor am I hoping that it is true.

From what I've been told about the cast HUGO, I don't see her as a match.

"From what I've been told about the cast HUGO, I don't see her as a match."

I have no inside info on this but I could totally see Jamison Scott as Hugo.

I very much doubt either Kim or Hugo has been cast, as they were still on some of the open call sheets I saw.

I think they'd be better off with unknowns. Not only would they be cheaper, but it would work better.

I'm praying nightly for Andrea Burns as Rosie.

It all depends on who they cast as Kim of course. But Jamison's name was the first to pop into my head. Though, they don't really need a musical performer to play the role. The last time I saw it Steve Zahn was Hugo.

If I am remembering correctly, Hugo doesn't really sing much (at least solo), right? So I agree, a true musical performer isn't needed for the part. He should be able to act it and Kim and he should have good chemistry.

I'd love to see an unknown as Kim. The movie turned Kim into a leading role (due to Ann Margaret I'm sure), which it is really isn't. She's a key part of the show, yes, but definitely featured, not leading.

^^Gina Gershon...no. I just cannot see her in that role at all!

Andrea Burns is so perfect! (I can just see how awesome she'd be with "Spanish Rose"). Heck, even bringing in Vanessa Williams to reprise the role again from the ABC movie would be more exciting.

I was told Hugo was cast....and although I didn't think it was great casting, it wouldn't be the worst. IF it turns out to be true. I take ALL "insider' info with a grain of salt. or two.

Matt Doyle (of SPRING AWAKENING) will be playing Hugo.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

I was "told" of Matt Doyle as well.
