I personally have met/happen to know a bunch of people who have been waiting on the line since midnightish...and believe me, they are ridiculous and pathetically obsessed.
Camping out over night or getting in line at 1AM when the box office opens at 10 is ridiculous...there's a huge difference between camping out/getting there at 3 or 4 and getting there at 7 to me.
Believe me, I've met these people and they're absolutely beyond annoying and ridiculous.

It is ridiculous. I agree with that. I think I'm just arguing semantics, because the word "pathetic" strikes me as especially cruel.
I agree with everyone's judgments subjectively, but objectively these "huge differences" still seem a little arbitrary when we've all done things that would be judged by the next shade up on the gradient of ridiculous behaviors.
(I'd probably be quicker to judge if I knew these people. Just rushing this show one time, on a slow-ish morning, and I know there are some super obnoxious fans.)
