Rushing Aaron Tviet's 'Last'

What time are people planning on showing up? I'm almost afraid to ask...

re: Rushing Aaron Tviet's 'Last'

I think that if you're not already in line, it may be too late.

Seriously, it's gonna be a madhouse.

Haha that's what I'm afraid of! I was unfortunately planning on getting there a little after 4am...but I'd love to avoid that at all possible costs. Do you really think people will line up the night before?

re: Rushing Aaron Tviet's 'Last'

i just checked telecharge and a single $71 ticket came up in the mezz. better to just pay that rather than get up that early, don't you think?

re: Rushing Aaron Tviet's 'Last'

The night before? Lining up during the morning on the day before is a more likely estimate.

Hardcore NEXT TO NORMAL fans are the most rabid group you'll ever encounter.

Be prepared for quite the experience.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

I wish I could but I don't have $71 to spend! Maybe I should just rush on Friday and forget about Saturday...ugh.

This makes me wonder when the woman who gets their first everyday and claims that one of the seats is "her seat" will get there. I hope to God someone gets there before her and lives to report back on BroadwayWorld!

I mean seriously, people just have unhealthy attachments to things if you're willing to get there at 4am and wait around all day.

re: Rushing Aaron Tviet's 'Last'

Miss Congeniality is a Sunday rusher. I have no idea if she'll deviate from her routine this week because 1) there are no shows on Sunday and 2) it's Aaron's last.

Fortunately, I bought my tickets AGES ago for Saturday night (and Tuesday) with the friends and family code at the bargain basement price of $60 (the code is now $70 and $85).

re: Rushing Aaron Tviet's 'Last'

it's so funny you call her Miss Congeniality, because when my friend rushed for our tickets, there were guys in line actually watching "Miss Congeniality".

re: Rushing Aaron Tviet's 'Last'

Is this the Saturday eve performance? If it is, yay! I booked a ticket for that show weeks ago: second row dead center. It'll be my first time seeing N2N so I'm psyched!

Elke, yes.

*I second spiderdj82's comment

I wonder if people are already lining up/when they plan too

re: Rushing Aaron Tviet's 'Last'

I'm not trying to criticize anyone with this question, but I'd like to know. If Aaron Tveit is coming back in September and it's not really his last performance, why is it such an important night?

re: Rushing Aaron Tviet's 'Last'

Probably because there aren't any guarantees in this life... Especially when it comes to the staying power of shows in this economy. We don't WANT to think the worst, but we try to prepare for it.

re: Rushing Aaron Tviet's 'Last'

jordangirl, please.

You and I both know that all of the people willing to line up this early have already seen Tveit more than a few times.

Using the fact that the show may close before he returns as an excuse is hardly plausible.

re: Rushing Aaron Tviet's 'Last'

just walked passed the theatre. There are like 6 people in line. Despite being a fan myself, this is a little pathetic.

re: Rushing Aaron Tviet's 'Last'

That's extremely pathetic. Especially considering he will return if the show is still open, and the show will most likely still be open in the Fall.

re: Rushing Aaron Tviet's 'Last'

...So now you agree with me and Ripped, zoneace?

I'm all for the support of theater, especially a show like N2N. But some people are just ridiculous. Support and pathetic obsession are very different.

re: Rushing Aaron Tviet's 'Last'

...who decides the arbitrary cut off time when rushing goes from "understandable" to "pathetic"? What a giant consider the source this thread is.

Not that I'm condoning the ridiculousness. But I felt ridiculous enough rushing at 7am that I can't really imagine feeling that much sillier being there at 3 or 4. Especially since I'd gone straight from bar hopping and pulling an all nighter to the rush line, and would have been awake either way.

I just hope the crazed Tv8 rushers have a healthier sense of shame than the folks passing judgment here. Because, seriously kids. Not worth it.
