I agree that it's okay for porn stars to do legitimate theatre. While I wasn't overly impressed by Rex Chandler in Making Porn, when I saw it with Blue Blake, I thought he gave a rather good performance.

Hey I'm not judging, but come on! It's the Roundabout Theatre for for godsake. I do expect them to have a little more class than hiring aging gay porn actors.

Off Broaday is one thing, but this is just some stupid gimmick to get the gays in the seats.

Why not have Jenna Jameson star in Pygmalion?

Ouch !!! I will be watching it..... (bec. of Rosie & Brooks ) I probably wont even recognize him in the play?

Does anyone have a pic of Ryan Idol (now as in 2007 / in his website -which he only post his old pics ) btw- there is alreday a logo of "The Ritz" in his site

Edit : I found a pic of him (in the middle) wow- he was born in 1966 and he is from Worcester, MA..per wikipedia

While I can't tell you for sure about his actual sexual orientation, I can tell you that it's one of the worst kept secrets in the world that he's "gay for pay." When I worked with him, his girlfriend at the time (a blonde aerobics instructor named Rachel) came to visit and saw the show several times. He also got very upset with friends of mine who admitted to other people that he was "straight" because he didn't want the image shattered. (As if there were really any danger of that.) That part had nothing to do with him finding god. He doesn't like to talk about his fall out the window, but I do know that he's admitted that it was a suicide attempt.

Judging from that pic that was posted, he has definitely put on a few pounds in the past 5 years. And last (and certainly least), that IMDB profile has his real last name wrong. His name is Marc Anthony Donais (Donais, Beret... sure, they sound alike!), but he goes by Anthony. I know quite a few people who have some other choice names for him, though. (And yes, I'm one of them.)

Also, I think Mr. Idol came to see "The Year of Magical Thinking", there was this guy there one night, and I knew I recognized him, but I couldn't get a name with the face. Now, after seeing that posted pic, I think it was him. Trying to steal some acting pointers from Ms. Redgrave.

Hello Dear Ones: Here is an autographed poster of Ryan Idol when he did "Making Porn" in Austin, Texas.. June-July 2002. I actually met him at a Gay Pride event, where he was promoting "Making Porn." I also have a picture of me with Ryan Idol. (I really need to do some sleuthing to find that picture in my closet.) Anyway, he I remember him being quite nice.. very clear headed (it was daytime) and had a slight Boston / Massachusetts accent.

Whoa, that was kinda freaky to scroll down and see that (especially first thing in the morning)! Roman, that's the production of Making Porn that I was in with good ol' Mr. Idol. I'm glad to know you saw it!! :) And it's true, he was great with the fans. (You should've seen what it was like taking him to a gay bar after we did the pride parade!) Unfortunately, we also had to put up with him the rest of the time, too. And that's where the fun ended.

I'm really surpised to hear all this bad stuff about him 'cause I saw him in "Making Porn" at The Actor's Playhouse (so sad it's going bye bye) and he was surprisingly good.
After the show he warmly greeted fans & signed DVD's in the back of the theater.
That was just a few years ago... but judging by the recent picture of him if he's playing "Man in Towel" they're gonna have to get a very LARGE towel.
