Seesaw is one of my favorite shows EVER! I saw the original production 12 times and twice on tour. Michelle Lee was so amazing! Why is this show not being revived when other lesser shows are? I'd like to see this one done at Reprises. Why would they revive Bells Are Ringing when the Broadway revival was not that long ago? I'd like to see Idina in this show. Any other ideas out there??

Love this show love the music..Michele Lee was amazing
but most people I know say there is a sameness to all of her songs that bores them while listening to the cd
I think the show is 'dated" very 60s-early 70s
and is kind of locked into this era.
But Nobody Does it Better than me is one of the best
songs to come out of a show ever !!

Seesaw was amazing when I saw it at the Uris Theater (What's it named now?) in 73. Say what you want about it being cliched and dated; I still think it would hold up today It excited and even revitalized the dangerous city back then in so many ways. Even the mayor of NYC appeared onstage during the show. It might have gotten us lovers of NYC back in the 70's to think about starting the I Love NY Campaign. I moved to NYC the year after seeing Seesaw, and it was one of the reasons why. I hope Encores brings it back someday with Andrea Burns as Gittel, Sean Hayes as Jerry, Nick Adams as Jerry, and Robin de Jesus as Julio. It was a wonderful show then and would be one today!

I love Seesaw, it's my favorite Coleman score, and in the top 10 favorite musicals of all-time for me.
Personally, if Encores! does it, I'd like Anne Hathaway as Gittel. And definitely not Nick Adams as David, he doesn't sparkle the way Tune does. Spencer Liff would be a better option. And I would hope they'd keep "Ride Out the Storm" even though a lot of people hate that number.
