I'd say after the film and the charity concert, they should hang up their hats and let this phase of their life end.

I think probably not, with the exception of Anthony Rapp. He's the quintissential Mark Cohen, and has aged the least.

In my own selfish world- hell yeah! That's because I'd give up my right lung to see Mr. Rapp on broadway.

But I agree in thinking that they should be able to concentrate on other things in their lives besides Rent.

*cries*.

I can understandyour willingness to give up organs to see him. I was lucky enough to see RENT 2 days after it opened on Broadway...He is what I remember vividly. I just wish he'd learn what to do with his hands when he's dancing... YIKES!

But he is great...

Yeah, I bet after auditioning 9 times in her younger years before finally getting this movie, Tracie's getting all kinds of RENT tour invitations now. Hope so anyway. She should do it, she'd be great.

I would love to see Tracie as Joanne on Broadway, considering she was great in the film.

No to Tracie too? I think the others have weathered this show and should--and most seem to have, and want to--move on. But she'd have my approval if she went to the stage show from here. Of course she just got added to the cast of "Cold Case" so that may be it for her RENT phase.

No.

It was great while it lasted, but now I desperately want to see/hear them in other things, particularly Adam. He's actually only done three shows- Rent, Aida and Cabaret. He needs an original musical.

He did Aida for 3 years!! I can't believe anyone would want to tie themselves down night after night for that long of a time. Particularly the free-spirited musician that Adam always longed to be, originally. Now they'll all get more opportunities, you watch. It will be neat to see what he does next, too, I'm watching! :)

Seeing Tracie on Broadway would be absolutely fantastic.

I want to see ALL of the OBC on Broadway again...but not in Rent. They have done so much for the show and we all love them, but it is definitely enough.

I think for Tracie, doing the show after doing the film would be like taking a step sideways for her career when she can now move ahead and get her name out there!

I'd LOVE to see Anthony back on broadway as Mark.
Ditto to Tracie as Joanne.
Other than those two, I'd like to see the rest of the cast in original productions.

I wish that you hadn't used capital letters in the title of your post.

Anyway, no, probably not. I mean, if they really really wanted to, but I'd like to see them all in different things. I think that if Tracie Thoms still wants to be Joanne on Broadway, she should get that chance.

I think it would be cool whenever this show closes, if the actors didn't age too much and were free, if they all came back for the final month of performances.

THAT is a cool idea actually...if they're free from all their other projects for a while.

I don't think any of them should come back to RENT, except for some kind of benefit or whatever, not even Tracie. I think she has great talent, but after doing the movie, I think she should branch out and do other things, either on stage or on screen.

They won't. I have read numerous times from different people that they would only come back to do it if all the other originals came back to do it, like the 10th anniversary show. Almost no chance they'd do it on Broadway again. Why go back? They're probably going to be getting offered great things, and have done other great things since then.

No way. They are all now too old for their roles. It worked for the movie, but it can't work on Broadway.
