You folks keep saying that "scalping" is not right. Why is that so? Wicked tickets are a hot commodity. It is simple supply and demand and it certainly isn't extortion that people sell them at the high prices they command. People are clearly willing to pay the price. This is a two way street and obviously there must be people buying them at the premium prices. Quite simply, not everyone is going to be able to get everything they want and this is the free market at work. If you don't want folks scalping tickets, take the issue up with the Producers/Promoters.

Sincerely,

A Confirmed, Greedy, Evil Capitalist

"Quite simply, not everyone is going to be able to get everything they want and this is the free market at work"

It's gotten to the point where it's not just the fans that aren't getting what they want. How would you feel if you were performing and your close friends and family member couldn't get a chance to see you. But if you can look into the eyes of the lead as she's playing the lotto for her loved ones and still feel good about yourself then more power to you.

I say that to emphasize a point, but I think it's been made so I've said all I have to about this.

"HighlyUnrealistic said: I was peeved to no end when it got around that the Kennedy Center had put the rest of their tickets up for sale, a week before the official sale date was posted. I got lucky and got a couple of alright mezzanine seats a day before every show was sold out... but thankfully my fiance had gotten wind of the sale at work and had already ordered 2 Christmas day tickets for part of my Christmas gift. It WAS suppose to be a suprise... but when I told him that I had bought us Wicked tickets, he informed me that he had already gotten us a pair. And they're good seats... 7 rows back, center stage. :) "

At least you got some. Enjoy the show. I'm seriously considering not going back to the Kennedy Center at all, I'm still extremly p/o'ed with them.

...But I still will. *sigh* Little Women, can you please go to the National instead? It would make my life a little easier.
