Alright, so the scene in which Mary Jane is performing in a Broadway show, what theatre are they filming in?? Or are they filming outside of??? I imagine the theatre interior scene was filmed in an empty theatre in another city, but the scenes on broadway out front were filmed on the streets of NYC, and I couldnt figure out what theatre it is! Heres some nearby landmarks-

In one shot, you can CLEARLY see they are outside the Shubert, and there is definate SPAMALOT posters and signs and such...

In another shot the HELEN HAYES is seen in the background (with a marquee of BRIDGE AND TUNNEL in the background!)

In yet ANOTHER shot, you can see the Majestic marquee, with the phantom mask above it...

So what theatre are they in front of???

Other shots show what I think is the exterior of the schoenfeld, and maybe the golden???

i dont know, what do you all think?

It is the Broadhurst, where Les Miserables is currently playing, they filmed it in June of last year. There's another thread on this.

No, that is not the actual interior. Also, the stage door in the movie is not the actual stage door. The actual one is next to the box office out front.

How to properly use its/it's: Its is the possessive. It's is the contraction for it is...

And there isn't a box office window outside. I don't know why they added that in.

Probably just to be more theatre-esque.
Just like they probably did it outside the Broadhurst because Sardi's is in plain sight & something even non theatre-buffs recognize.

Goshen doesn't do High-School-shows.

Just found this pic online.

re: SPIDERMAN 3 ON BROADWAY

The History Boys was still playing there when the filming was going on, so did they have to take all that down every night or did they get all the exterior shots done in one day?

They filmed the exterior in 1 night, after a performance of History Boys ended. They were gone by daybreak.

"Mary Jane" uses the alley way behind the Broadhurst/Shubert as the stage door. The interior is not the Broadhurst, probably a soundstage.

For a $300 million movie, you figure they'd write a good script. No?
