As the title implies, the critically acclaimed, financially not-so-much Deaf West revival of Spring Awakening plays the last performance of it's limited run today? Did you like this show? Did you hate it? Do you think it'll be remembered by awards season? Post opinions here!

Well, it sure became a hot ticket in the home stretch. Whether that is because people procrastinated or because word was finally getting around, I don't know.

It is a wonderful production of a wonderful show and I hope it is not forgotten but the fact remains, now as when the producer first started talking to people about it, the only way this would make sense on Broadway would be at a non-profit. (And sidebar, we have no non-profit, at least until Second Stage actually arrives, geared toward a show like this.)

I'm glad it came in, even if it was a quixotic move. The terrible marketing did not help matters. And I hope the tour really happens. It's a gorgeous production that greatly elevates the show.

I loved this production and was fortunate enough to see it three times.

I think at this point, it will likely be remembered with nominations for:
Best Revival of a Musical
Best Direction of a Musical (Michael Arden)
Best Choreography (Spencer Liff)

I'm hoping this beautiful production gets its due come Tony season.
Also, not trying to shill (well, not too hard anyway...), but I just had to list my ticket for tonight's sold out closing performance due to the weather. It's up for grabs on Ticketmaster. Please don't let there be any open seats in the house for this outstanding show!

I'm sorry you can't make it, but I'm glad someone couldn't!

It was mea culpa for not realizing this was drastically different from the Spring Awakening I fell in love with (but never did see live), and then having dragged my friends to see it, whilst paying Broadway prices for it... I was disappointed the first time I saw it. Appreciated the production values but still very disappointed. I decided to see it again knowing what to expect and liked it a lot more. I'm happy to leave with a good impression.
I have always loved the OBC album, so it was wondrous to hear the music performed live. And I really, really enjoy all the discussion around this reinterpretation, the process, deaf history and culture, etc. Also want to learn ASL now (but probably won't)!
It's a good show that requires pre-reading for the Spring Awakening and Deaf West uninitiated. Some may find it interesting that both times I went, there were older ladies complaining about how they just couldn't follow what was going on! "So was it the girl's boyfriend that died?" LOL.
I do hope there's some Tony nominations awaiting the show and its cast. Here's to a great send-off today!

The only cast member I think will have a shot at being recognized come Tony time is Krysta Rodriguez. Talk about reinventing a role.

Sorry to say, I think you could say this about nearly any show running. "WHO'S THAT, HARRY? IS THAT HIS MOTHER?"

Can't argue with that! HAH! My friends have complained that they don't actually tell you anything in the Playbill about the show you're going to see. But I think this was somehow way worse because the original material is pretty confusing already. Now you've got two actors per (almost) every character? My friends barely managed to keep up.
That comment was after the entire show had ended...

I know all of this year's categories are likely to be crowded, but I would love to see Daniel N. Durant and Alex Boniello be co-nominated à la Side Show for Moritz -- they both gave such dimension and depth to him while still making it feel like one complete character.

This is why one of my favorite Broadway artifacts is the original Playbill for Les Mis where the cast list was embedded within a summary of the complete show.

This was one of my favorite productions of 2015. I'm so happy New York audiences were given a chance to see it.

This show was so amazing to experience live. If you didn't catch it in NY I highly recommend going to see it when its on tour.

Glad I saw this when I was in town last week. Never thought Krysta's entrance after "Don't do sadness/Spring and Summer" would hit me like it did.

I loved this revival as well and was pleased to hear it was going to tour. Then I read that the plan is for it to tour in 2017 and I realized it will not tour. Why would they have to wait an entire year to tour this show? By that time many will have forgotten about this revival.

It's intermission right now. I'm here at the show. It's absolutely stunning. This is my third time seeing it and it is by far the greatest. The cast is electric tonight, the whole audience is reacting well. It truly is the most stunning show ever
