Chica, that was fantastic!
Thank you so much for sharing, now I need to go see it again.
And again.
I was at Lauren's show and saw Mano as well, but didn't talk to him. Were you one of the women sitting in front of him.
I was the guy in the brown velvet jacket.
I really wish I had been there for that conversation.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

I understand.
I feel the same way about Lauren, once she started talking to me at the end, I totally lost track of everything else.
If he told you anything else, share it.

Mano is so amazing at being able to approach his character like that, I totally admire him for is dedication to the role.

Nice.
Wow I love both of those. I must say I actually figured the stray dog thing, that comes accross really well.
I don't think you give too much away for me.
DRS, I agree, I know it is the same way with Lauren too. They really know how much they have to give, and I must say they give it.

I still think it's better for people to go see the show, and form their own opinions.

Most amazing post I've read on this board. Thanks much. If only they would film this production and make it available like the Angela L. version. Probaby won't happen with Tim Burton's production in the wings.

"Is there anyone else who really cannot top thinking about it?"
Oh yes. :) I saw ST on Saturday for the first time. I'd never really listened to the soundtrack (old or new)... nor was I even THAT familiar with the show (outside of the cute bit in the movie "Jersey Girl"). I admit, I was sorta lukewarm on it at intermission time. But by the end ... I was totally in love with it. I can't say it's one of my all-time favorites... but I have become very taken with the production itself. It really was a marvel to see it performed like that. And, of course, seeing the wonderful Patti in person was a treat. Anyway - it's been in my head ever since. :)
While I'm here -- lemme ask this: It was pouring down rain on Saturday when I was in town & I had more walking to do afterwards ... so I opted not to get a Sweeney Todd program for fear of it's safety. I thought that I'd be able to order one online ... but I don't see them anywhere. Anyone have an extra, or would anyone who's going again soon be willing to pick me up a program?

Wow...what an amazing post, Chica...I am humbled at your patience to get it down for us to read.
After seeing Sweeney, we were absolutely blown away and that was very early in the run. Manoel impressed me particularly and I mentioned that since all the characters were onstage all evening, and not one actor broke character, that they were all leads...particularly Manoel's Toby.

Excellent, excellent, excellent post! So insightful and so informative. It was interesting not only to hear about the show itself and the changes it underwent but Mano and Donna's takes as well. I agree with much of what Mano said as well.
So are we to assume that Anthony is in the asylum as well because he takes the pill? If ones view is that they are in an asylum in the first place.
I don't like the sound of those changes that they made to Patti's performance. I loved that she was more evidently smart and more openly knowing. I don't like the sound of the ending especially. When I saw the show Patti's frantic and knowing attitude towards her murder was one of the things that affected me most. Oh well, at least she's still managing to infuse some of that.
