i dont think he's pretentious at all.
i really identify with him.
I wonder how many more times Sunday will extend.
I thought Jenna said she had work commitements shortly after the first April end date too, but I guess not.
At the stage door on Sunday (02/17/2008 ), Brynn O'Malley told those of us that were waiting out there that they could possibly extend as late as August.
Sunday till August?!? Well praise Jesus, and I hope it happens.

i saw the show last night and thought it was wonderful. I was amazed by the projected sets and lighting. They were truly stunning, extremely effective and beautiful. I loved both leads. I only wished I could have been a little closer to see their facial expressions (i was in the 2nd to last row of the rear mezz - row mm). The view of the entire stage from way up there is neat, but i would love to have been closer to see their faces.
Jenna had a terrific voice and great use of her voice for both comic and emotional effect. I loved her in both acts, especially her turn as Marie in the 2nd act.. just great! hilarious!
I thought that Daniel was also terrific in the role. I had never seen SITPWG before. I can't believe I'm actually admitting that... but I thoroughly loved the music (of course it's brilliant and beautiful sondheim) and i loved the story.. although at times i felt it dragged a bit.. I think that if i would have been a bit closer I might have been more locked in during the slower parts.. But overall I thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was a wonderful cast and show.
Ms. Peil was also a delight as both of her very different characters.

I saw it Saturday night, and the house was sold out. While I adored the show and everything about it, the rest of the audience did not seem terribly into it, and my mom was bored out of her mind.
I saw the show at matinee this Saturday. I thought it was wonderful and I got to meet the entire cast afterward bar a few.
Unfortunately Michael Cumpsty was out at the performance I saw. Now I must ask: How did he portray Jules? Because Andrew Varela chose to play him as haughty, cold, and uninterested in everything. He seemed like he did not want to be onstage when he was speaking and seemed to find the actions around him to be a big joke. As one who has played Jules/Bob Greenberg in this production, I must say he was the one disappointment I had in the entire production, which was marvelous.
So please tell me Michael Cumpsty was better.

Michael Cumpsty does a Jim Broadbent caricature in the first act. In the second act he repeats some words he saw written down on some paper somewhere, it isn't really fair to call it an actual "performance."
