Of course you do.
Studio 54, my favorite theatre!
I hate that theatre.
Only thing that makes me a bit sad is that since it's in December, Ms.Krakowski is probably not going to be able to headline the show due to 30 Rock. I'm sure there are plenty of other actresses who could do justice to Dot in this particular revival, can't wait to see it.
Y.A.Y.
I'm not sure there is any guarantee that FIRST ROCK is going to be around by December...
But, the first wish for all of us should really be for Mr. Evans and Ms. Russell to be allowed to recreate their roles from London in NYC - especially as this is now a limited engagement revival.
I so hope 30 Rock stays on.
easily the best new comedy show. i love it.
I was just gonna ask if there were any chances that the two West End leads would be reprising their roles in the American production.
I just figured that Roundabout would try to cast "names." But you do make a point, Michael Bennett, about it being a non-profit limited engagement as opposed to an open-ended run at a profitable theatre a la Sweeney Todd or Company.

It's not in the Sondheim Book of the Month set, it's in the "A Collector's Sondheim" which I believe is somewhat easily found. However, for most it's almost completely worthless. Outside of the Disco Sweeney and a few others, the rest are excerpts from the Sondheim OCRs.

MichealBennet did you see the production at the wyndhams theater or at the chocolate factory itself? I saw both productions and I found Anna Jane Casey to be phenomenal, I think even more so then Jenna Russell. it's such a shame that Anna was a diva...
sorry for that rant but back to subject I am so sad that it is in Studio 54, if only Xanadu could go into the disco house, and Sunday could go in Hayes for an unlimited run... not that Roundabout would produce Xanadu but yes ranting again.
I saw it at the Wyndhams, so no, I didn't see Anna Jane Casey. But I thought Jenna Russell was sublime: she was luminous and earthy and her chemistry with Daniel Evans was very, very special. They really deserve to come to the states.
I saw it at the Wyndham's too and loved Ms Russell. I thought Evans was wonderful in the first act but he didn't transform well into the chromalume creator in act two. He seemed stiff and uncomfortable and his American accent was wayward at best. I'd prefer to see someone else in the role.
MB, who did u see in the Wyndhams?
I suddenly hav a thought that Sutton could be great and it would be a very different role to what she normally plays.
But of course, I do wish they wudnt cast 'names' into the show cuz you go in and you watch the show and not the people and you don't want the actors stealing the thunder from the show and that's why I don't think Ruthie would suit this production (she wud be a great Dot imo, but not for this production)

This production is breath-taking and remarkably beautiful staging. Remarkable. Utterly fantastic. My friends who saw it in London last summer said it was their best and most high-bar theatre experience of their life (and these are big theatre people). Get your hands on the album ASAP. Daniel Evans is superb.
With 6 Olivier Award nominations, I hope it wins as many as possible.
Mallardo - extremely minority opinion. Evans was heartbreaking in ACT 2 and a strong front runner to win the Olivier.
American Airlines would have been a better choice....but either way i am excited
I loved this when I saw it in London in September. Having listened to the OBCT and not being overly enthused, I thought I'd go and see it as everyone was raving about it. I saw it in it's last week at the Wyndams and was completely blown away by it, came out humming "Sunday" and my next trip to London went straight to Dress Circle to buy the cast album which I am perfectly capable of listening to start to finish.
I wish I could see it again... but I'm making my (first) trip to New York in September, which'll be too soon!
