The hit London revival of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE will play the Roundabout next year: at Studio 54. Fabulous revival: but it probably would have been more ideal at the American Airlines theatre...

Looks like I'll be ready to perform more contortion to fit into those seats as much as I can to see it!
i KNEW it was gonna be at 54. something told me they had to put it there to make excuses as to why the staging will be sparse...
projections and painted curtains, here we come
Yay! But it probally won't be a year until we see it on Broadway. It's going to be a long wait!
I need to see this.
Did you see the London revival, Folky? Not that you aren't still entitled to your opinion, but you would be in the vast minority of people who didn't think the staging and design of this new production was fabulous.

Any idea if this will be open in June? I would love to catch it when I'm there!

Sorry...2008. I should have explained.
EDIT: I assumed since most Roundabout productions are limited that this one would be as well so I was looking for any insight.

i didn't MichaelBennett but i knew if Roundabout put their hands on it, i was bound to be disappointed in some fashion or other.
Well, assuming you mean June 2008 -- probably not. Roundabout shows typically play limited engagements. Even with an extension, it probably wouldn't play longer than 4 months.

Thanks for the info...Too bad. I might have to make a return trip.

Aaaaaaand, cue the angelic music I have saved specifically for this news.
The Roundabout has done okay with their "transfers." With Buntrock again directing, and the physical production recreated, I can see no reason why this production shouldnt be superb in New York - if its cast well.
Such a beautiful show. I'm glad that this production is transferring from London, no matter how long I'll have to wait to see it.

So, I totally thought by the thread title that it was going to be a Disco Album of Sondhiem Music...damn
Cool news still though
Well, there is already the Disco version of SWEENEY TODD. I think if they do a Broadway cast recording, of SUNDAY they should have a hidden disco track of "Children and Art."

Husk have you ever heard the Disco Sweeney Todd Remix? I can never decide if I love it because it's so awful or I hate it because it's so wonderful...

Back in the day, it seemed everything had a disco remix. There was a 12" single and it turned up on a Book of the Month Sondheim box on CD. I assume it's out there on the internet somewhere.
