aren't you just too difficult to please? :P If given a chance...what would you rather have for the 07-08 and the 08-09 seasons?

Ya know...not real sure. I know there has to be something better out there then the stuff they've picked for this coming season. Riverdance? Give me a break. That is just silly. I would have loved to see them book Avenue Q, and I surely want to see The Color Purple for their 2008-2009 season. I'm just being a picky person, I know. I'm even more dissapointed in Music Circus. I want to see The Wiz, not Annie for the 50th time, and surely hope their productions of Les Mes and Hyde aren't total dissapointments. Hopefully they'll do a really dark version of Hyde, complete with the murder of "you-know-who" via a knife instead of the toned down strangulation that many productions have taken to doing.
Avenue Q?! I was hoping for it but I was reminded that "that's not going to happen in Sactomato."
Well I heard that they had to take in some yucky shows (LOL) to secure better shows in the future, so let's hope.
BTW some weekend prices for JB are $80!!! That's a huge jump I'd say. I know it's a popular show but I don't know if many single ticket buyers will pay for that much money...

I'm happy about Jersey Boys and Phantom but...that's about it. Riverdance is lame, Mamma Mia! is played out, Whistle...why? And who cares?, and Putnam was in San Fran for the longest time...why are they doing this to me? The Community Center Theatre needs to be remodeled, btw. It's ugly and outdated inside and the sound system is seriously lacking.

I agree that the Community Center needs remodeling, but it takes lots of $$ to do that and they need to do a serious fund raising for that. How much are you willing to donate, FlyingMonkey??
I was hoping for Drowsy Chaperone and/or The Color Purple. I am sure they will be here, there is no way "Broadway Sacramento" will pass those two shows up. I assume they will be in the 08-09 season with Lion King. It's really all about timing and what is touring and what fits in the schedule. This season is, unfortunately, not the best season they have had but one bad season isn't going to kill them.
I agree, Anastasia (btw love your icon, drool), I don't think the next season is that great but Broadway Sacramento did a good marketing by brining JB. I don't think they will lose the current subscribers b/c of the line up (and they may be able to pick up new subscribers b/c of JB), and as long as the 08/09 season seems to be good, it should be okay.
lite2shine is right though....you will never see Avenue Q as part of the Broadway Series....
Really You think so? They did Falsettos when I worked for the company and it did well. And many people who saw it loved it.
Well, I guess I can't say NEVER, but I REALLY REALLY doubt it. Sacramento audiences are weird. A lot of them come to shows for the right reasons...to enjoy something new and have a great experience (or even a bad one depending on the show....Dr. Doolittle anyone?, but at least a different experience). I feel like the majority of them come (in Sacramento) because either they are being dragged there for some reason or another, because it's the social thing to do, or because they want to see Oklahoma! for the 25th time. I would LOVE to see Avenue Q in Sacramento, but I think a lot of the audiences would think it was horrible, would leave at intermission, and would call and complain about it the next day. Just my observation though.
Bumping to ask if there was any word on whether JB will have a rush?

Jersey Boys hasn't been officially announced as part of the series, but we all know it's going to be. There probably won't be word on rush until it's officially announced on July 2nd.
Thanks! It still hasn't been announced? Jeesh.
Not until July 2nd.
