Im listening to the 'Divas Lament' clip and this girl is phenomenal. Does she have an official site? What else has she been in?
Sorry but she's such a good singer she deserves a thread dedicated to her amazingness. Im officially dying to see this show for her.

She has one joke in SPAMALOT that is so overused it's not even funny. Her joke is that she makes fun of the show and of being a "diva". Fine, it was funny for the first few minutes but after that I was through with her.
She does have a phenomenal voice though and I hope she finds a better musical to showcase her talents.

Posted: 4/17/05 at 4:06pmSara Ramirez was the best thing about "Spamalot". And I agree with Matt_G's assessment that the diva jokes were overused; I commend her for making the best of the role.

Yes! I'm so glad Sara Ramirez is getting some recognition. Saw her in the ill-fated "Capeman" on Broadway. A Latina on Broadway is always a good thing!!!
And I can't wait for The Mambo Kings...MAJOR Latin talent will be hitting B'way very soon!

Posted: 4/17/05 at 5:28pmSara Ramirez is fabulous in SPAMALOT; the only part of the show I really liked. I have been a fan of hers since THE CAPEMAN, and I saw her in A CLASS ACT (she replaced Julia Murney, who chose not to come to Broadway with the show). She was mildly miscast, but was great nonetheless.

"Mixed" by raves and slightly ravenous I guess.
Ramierez was by far the best part of Spamalot to me and I thought the Diva jokes were overused as well, her tremendous overacting and the timing involved were really the only times I thought the show showed its potential. Her voice was tremendous, even though I wasn't all that fond of her songs. (except "Find your Grail": I thought it did the poking fun at muscicals without being over the top or ridiculous, "The Song that Goes Like This" and "Diva's Lament" respectively. I enjoyed TSTGLT but it was so out of place, like the rest of this show.
