Sarah Uriarte Berry is Beauty's Next Belle

According to buzz I heard around the Lunt-Fontanne today, Ms. Berry, late of "Piazza," will be re-joining the "Beauty" cast, beginning on September 19. Sarah Litzenger, the current Belle, finishes her run on September 17.

Her name has always bothered me. She was a hoot in MILLIE, but I hate that I can't pronounce her name.

She added "Berry" after she got married. I think that during her first stint in BATB, she was just Sarah Uriarte.

I think she's so much better than (a) going back to a previous show and (b) Disney overall, but wow. THIS would get me to go back.

Why are they bringing back all these Belles from ten years ago? I'm gonna hold out for Toni Braxton. She's bound to replace Uriarte.

That is so kool! I actually was in New York last week, saw Beauty and chatted with Sarah Litzsinger for awhile at the stage door. She said she was leaving September 17 and that another Sarah was going to be Belle.

There have been at least 13 Belles, and several more if you count all the understudies that have gone on. IBDB lists the following baker's dozen:

Susan Egan
Kim Huber
Toni Braxton
Kerry Butler

Andrea McArdle
Christianne Tisdale
Sarah Uriarte
Ashley Brown
Sarah E. Litzsinger
Megan McGinnis
Christy Carlson Romano
Brooke Tansley

And having seen a couple of them, I'd list Sarah Berry as my favorite.

Hmmmmm...I love her, but it seems like it would be a bit of a waste for her gorgeous soprano.

I mean, I loved her belting in Taboo, but "The Joy You Feel" is so subtely beautiful.

That list of Belles should also include Ann Sanders, who played her right before Jamie Lynn Siegler took over.
