Any word or rumors on Sarah and Sky in the Guys and Dolls revival?
The latest rumor is Lauren Ambrose and Norm Lewis. It was posted on ATC and here.
Ooooh. Ambrose as Sarah sounds divine....
Lewis would make a great Sky as well.
Ambrose would be wonderful indeed. Not so excited about Lewis, but oh well.

Those are certainly interesting choices.
I'm still disappointed the Patrick Wilson & Anne Hathaway (along with Debra Messing & John C. Reilly) in the London production transfer rumors fell through. Now that was perfection all around.
I love Ann Hathaway but is she the new automatic choice for every role?
Bobby, I just think Hathaway is pretty hot right now.
I've been wanting to see her on Broadway since she first did THE PRINCESS DIARIES and I do think she would have made a wonderful Sarah Brown. I think Lauren Ambrose is sort of an inspired choice though, so I'm excited about her (not so much about the rest of the cast though...at all).
Timote, I too am extremely disappointed that the Donmar production didn't transfer.
Harry Connick Jr. should be Sky. And then, only if he is cast, Kelli O'Hara should be Sarah.

I agree with the Connick/O'Hara. In fact, I'd bet money on it.
Oh my good gracious. I absolutely love "Guys and Dolls," but even more than that, I love Norm Lewis. A combination of the two would simply make my head explode from glee. I was just thinking the other day that he'd make a great Sky-- he's got that kind of smooth confidence in his voice that really suits the role.
Much as I adore Norm... wouldn't he have been better placed in an earlier revival? If we're talking Sky?
Well, I thought they were going for an all-around older cast for this one, not just Adelaide and Nathan? I don't know, I never saw Sky as being all that young. I got the idea from the script that he's been a bachelor for quite awhile... I don't know, though, I might just be blinded by my fangirlishness.
Lauren Ambrose can still convincingly play early 20s though.
Haven't we learned from 'West Side Story' not to trust "this is the age-range they're going for" rumours? ;D
Mmmhaha, true, true. Still... it'd be cool to see him in a new show besides Mermaid. I like Little Mermaid and all (I'm one of the few who does), and I like the whole bare-chest-and-sparkles-galore effect, but Triton barely sings, whereas Sky has about nine thousand and twenty songs.

Guys, he's a little old. Even by old, old standards.
Dude. He's 45 and looks damn fine for it. o_O
PiraguaGuy2's been watching too much "Legally Brown," I wager. *wink*
The thought of Debra Messing as Adelaide made me want to puke.
That said, I like the idea of Ambrose in anything again on Broadway, so her as Sarah would make me quite pleased. She was incredible in AWAKE AND SING a few years ago.

Wink right back, Schmerg.
Oh great, now I feel like Sarah Palin...

He may be past it now, but I always wanted to see Terrence Mann as Sky.
And his Sarah: Rebecca Luker.
Paul, that would be great casting. If only they were a little younger...

Sky is very hard to pin down, agewise. Bur remember, back at that time leading men really WERE men, not boys. Even if the "girl" was much younger.
As for Sarah, she is young, but not SO young, because people are wondering if she will ever find true love. And she is a faith-based social worker--i.e. not the highest on the food chain. Maybe she is 30 or so? And of course, seemingly plain.
Ambrose, while not as in demand as Hathaway, IS the better, more complex actress.
