Saw 9-5 yesterday

Had a blast.
The show is so much better than Shrek I have no idea how it lost out in the best musical category to that dribble.
Ms. Janney does a wonderful job as does ms. hilty. Ms. Block is fine in the role and has the best female voice on the broadway stage, bar none. No one has her range and control and depth. I just wish her acting was as good as her instrument.
The sets were amazing as were the costumes. Mr. Kudisch was wonderful (as he always is. No one can replace that man in that role) and i thought the music was fun.
Some songs could have been trimmed (the song in the bathroom which I really didn't care about) and Backwoods barbie. Ugh, I know it's ms Parton's show and that's her signature song, but wow. How about having a more awkward transition.

All that said, i wish the show and the performers luck. Again, i don't see this show (sadly) making it past Nov as they just don't have the financial numbers to do so. The tepid reviews killed any buzz it may have had and with the current economic climate it doesn't seem like the fall will be too kind to it.

But all in all a good time at the theater for a movie musical.

Glad you liked. I saw it for the fourth time last week (albeit with a discount code), and once again left grinning. Is it perfect? Nope. But I've enjoyed the heck out of it each time I've seen it. Who knows? Maybe it's because I've worked in an office setting all my life - and can see many of my own co-workers on that stage. Every office has a Roz, Judy, Doralee, Violet and even Hart. On my third visit to the show, I brought along a colleague from our NY office. Afterwards she came up with a laundry list of our surpervisors she'd like to see swinging from a garage door opener. And yes, she liked the show as well.

The song "Change It" has become my department's anthem. Morale has been way down due to the economy, salary freezes, work overload, etc. But it's up to us - the little guys - to make our own joys in the office from 9 to 5 (more like 8 to 6, but I digress). And we've done just that.

I really loved the show too, hopefully there'll be a change in the numbers, recommend the show to people.

seeing it for the fifth time tomorrow night...can't wait!

9 to 5 should of gotten the nomination over Shrek.

Can everyone stop correcting people for grammar, use of words, and spelling.. if you know what they meant just let it go... it's getting annoying. Get over yourselves and accept that not everyone is perfect.

I meant in cases where someone wrote drible rather than drivel, petty things like that. But fine if we're going to play like that, you should capitalize "i" when starting a sentence with it. It's "I". Genius <3
