It is realy pathetic! Do people think this can run? I think Dance of e Vampires was much better.

I have tixs for October. I thought Dance of the Vampires was okay. This was supposed to be a serious muscial with great special effects.

i have been hoping by opening night it would get better...but listening to all the reviews people give it seems likely it won't bere: Saw Dracula last night

re: Saw Dracula last night

I have a feeling this wont last too long. It's only 2 years after Dance of the Vampires came out (which I actually thought was great!) but no one seems to like monster musicals...idk

was tom hewitt okay, at least? he's really the only reason i was excited about the show.

re: Saw Dracula last night

Yeah but a broadway message board is going to be over critical. You never know how the show will do.

re: Saw Dracula last night

I saw Dracula before it was on Broadway, at a nearby music theatre. The sets were cool, but the music and the plot was only so-so. I don't remember much about it. The one song I wish I could remember was that "Into My Parlour" one...or something. Otherwise, nothing about it was memorable.

I am still going to buy tickets to see for myself. When does BROOKLYN start previews?

Wildhorn musicals are usually critical failures yet they always have large fan followings. I'm not sure if you should trust the reviews fully, they're probably a bit harsh.

Dracula was good when I saw it. nothing special, though. granted, i did see the fourth preview, so they were still working the bugs out. i hope this is wildhorn's success story, but i have some strong doubts.

re: Saw Dracula last night

I really want to see Dracula, seeing as I am one of those Wildhorn fans. I certainly understand the critiques of his music, but I love that dark feel.

I just hope it lasts until I see it!

re: Saw Dracula last night

I was there too last night. I thought:
1) Melissa Errico and Kelli O'Hara tried very hard, looked great, sounded great..but had no material to work with.
2) Tom Hewitt...BORING! and not sexy (How could THAT happen!)
3)The guy who played Van Helsing: What show was he in?!?! and what accent was that?!?!?
4)Effects...good but so many it was distracting. Tom Hewitt was lit so poorly at times it looked like a missed cue (is that to hifde is fly wires?)
5)Score was horrible ant not memorable (PS: I love J & H and Pimpernel). I couldn't hum one tune with a gun to my head.
6) Save your money!
7) $7.5 million on THAT..How bout feed a country instead!
