My wife and I saw the show last night. Seeing the reviews we expected it to be horrible. Were we ever pleasantly surprised! We loved the music, the performers were excellent, and the story, while unusual to say the least, was great. Funny, touching, with an interesting metaphysical twist. It would be a shame if this show closes soon. Having seen well over 90 shows, this was one that I will see again soon.
I salute you for not listening to the reviews and forming your own opinions.
Glad to hear you liked it. I did as well.

I've seen it twice. I wouldn't say I love it. But I didn't hate it. I was entertained, and David Turner dancing with the skeleton was well worth the admission price.
Glad to hear someone else not outright panning it. I was entertained as well, however, I found the performance of the lead actress to be rather annoying and her voice very shrill.
I think it could've been a much better show had Joe Brooks gotten someone else to direct it. That way some of the less congruent elements could've been omitted or fixed.
i still haven't seen this show, but i really don't know if i want to or not.
what other kind of shows do you like? you said you've seen over 90, so i'm just wondering what your taste is.

A few of our favorite shows are: Les miz, Jane Eyre, Wicked, Phantom, Jekyll and Hyde, and Aida.
i like all of those shows too!
so, you would recommend In My Life?
Oy. It was such a waste of talent.
If only it was a good story.
The worst part was Al and the flying dame edna fairy.
Please. It was so bad it was almost good.
I was laughing so hard. Trainwrecks are very entertaining.

I almost want to see it for fascination purposes like the people who go to auto races to see a crash and of course with TDF, I'll only be spending $30.
You should go. The fairy is so funny.
I've never had so much fun at such a mess!
well i'm glad jklass liked it, I hope Joe Brooks can keep it open for 120 performances (at least) so he can be crazy enough to tour it then i can see it!
It is really the best trainwreck I have seen.
i think we've established that already but thanks for reiterating your point, always love to hear more repetition in my life
awesome...i enjoyed the show too...def not Tony material..but fun.

I'm going in to the city in December with my dad, and couldn't decide what to see, so I was actually thinking about maybe seeing In My Life, despite what most people have said about it. Do you think it's worth going to see for someone who only gets to the city about 3-4 times a year? I'm usually really open-minded to any kind of play/musical.
No Tiny.
There are so many great shows to see:
1. The Color Purple- Great voices. Great sets. Pure magic.
2. Jersey Boys- A sure fire hit. The cast are great and it is the best Juke box musical since Mamma Mia. I had a blast.
3. Avenue Q.
4. Forbidden Broadway
5. Hairspray.
Don't see In My Life if you only have a short time to enjoy broadway. The only people that should see In My Life are people that are amused by trainwrecks.
Tiny- Form your own opinion about it. that's the best way to go.

I agree with Dancing. Watch some clips if you are curious. That might help you make a decision.

I just got home from it! I really liked it. Loved it, no. Hated it, no. It was my 2nd time so I knew what to expect (& what not to expect...) Considering it was a sold out audience, I was really impressed!
Corine...when you refer to Jersey Boys as the "best jukebox musical since Mamma Mia," which do you think is better?
