Shine on you are understanding the thread then. Celebrity and Movie/Rock/TV Star are very different! Celebrity is just what it is. We are on Broadway world .com so to the majority of people on this board a Broadway performer is a celebrity. and to some they may not be.

"I was still trying to figure out where I knew him from when the man in question grabbed me by the shoulders and said "Um, I am jogging. Can you move over please?" and physically shifted me to the side. (Gently yet firmly.) "

That's rude. I don't even like Jerry Seinfeld. He couldn't jog 'around' you? He's not even funny (I always thought he was the worst part of his show). I would have made a scene (even if he were a 'nobody' I would have made a scene).

These are all basically Broadway people that only we would know.

Liza Minelli (whom everyone knows) at Wicked, literally a bump lol. Audra Mc Donald, Hunter and Jenn and Little Women's closing. Hunter at little shop's closing, after i realized that he was sitting next to me on the aisle the whole time i was so pissed off lol.

I seem to see the basic bway ppl everywhere, Barett Foa at la cage, he was waiting for gavin, and Chris Sieber while waiting for the pillowman.

When I went to see Lennon in July, I sat next to Celia Keenan Bolger on the subway.

...which was pretty much awesome. 'Cause she's my idol. re: Saw Some Celebrities This Week I didn't talk to her though, because she was listening to her iPod and I didn't want to bother her... idk. I can be shy about stuff like that.

I also walked right past George Hearn after seeing Little Women, and since my best friend and I watched him get out of a taxi and walk to the Wicked stage door, we stopped him on his way in and asked him to take a picture with us. He is lovely! He was like, "Ohh, you saw Little Women today? Such a shame it's closing. Of course I'll take a picture with you!" Then he proceeded to kiss us on the top of our heads. Yeah, I'm cool, I got blessed by George Hearn. re: Saw Some Celebrities This Week

I hooked up with Jesse Metcalf of "Desperate Housewives" at a post-Emmys party in L.A. a couple of weeks ago. He was totally hot, but my friends thought he was a jerk. Whatever. Love them luscious lips!!

Aida was in Maryland? When? I live in Maryland. That sucks because I really wanted to see the show.

Last Saturday, while standing outside the Broadhurst waiting for the cast of LENNON to come out (all of whom have awesome talent and some celebrity themselves, especially Terry Mann and Chuck Cooper); I noticed Tim Curry walking past me. I looked, motioned (discreetly)to my companion who also looked...Tim smiled as he walked by. Of course, we didn't interrupt his conversation or walk, his smile was acknowledgement enough. After that, we saw Harvey Fierstein walking by at the same spot.

Same day, a bit later, saw Kevin Cahoon walking down/across 44th Street.

I believe that broadway performers are celebrities, whether or not they are well known outside the theatre, If they are celebrated within their own medium for their talent, that is all that matters. People who patronize the arts know them. Then, too, there are those broadway performers who have managed to also be famous for having appeared in movies and/or on television (like Curry, Fierstein and Mann, among others).

I don't know all of the race car drivers, circus performers, Las Vegas performers, baseball players, opera singers, etc. who are considered celebrities, but within their own circles, they are still famous and/or celebrated.

It's people in any medium who aren't talented, but just in your face all the time who I don't consider real celebrities. They may be notorious for one thing or another, but not necessarily someone I consider a celebrated talent. Consider that lots of people know who Monica Lewinsky is, but not because she's a celebrity, because she is notorious for having been with a president.

Guess it means different things to different people. In the eye of the beholder and all that...

New York run-ins or pass-by's:

Norbert, Christopher Sieber, Derrick Baskin, Jay Reiss, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Lisa Howard, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Bruce Vilanch, Gordon Clapp, David E. Kelley, Alec Baldwin (held a cab door for me outside of Sarabeth's, Josie Bisset and her husband (I forget his name..Rob something?)The only ones I talked to were Derrick and Jay.

Had actual conversations with Billy Joel in Philadelphia and Trisha Yearwood in Atlantic City.

Other random meetings:
Smokey Robinson, Donald Trump, one of the backstreet boys (the one with dark hair and goatee), Michelle Phillips, Ali Landry, Shemar Moore, Tom Arnold, the woman who played the mom on that show, Growing Pains, Cab Calloway, and some sports people that I couldn't even tell you what sport they played.

I really only see Barrett Foa all the time. I usually pass him on my way home when he is walking to his show. Although, I did see him at the restaurant I was eating at after I went to the Broadway fleamarket. I still have yet to actually meet him.
