I am quite excited for this. yay.
Thanks, Volleyballer.
If I had only had negative things to say, I would have kept them to myself . . . after all, I hope to be performing on Broadway someday and would want my audiences to be kind in the early stages of a show! That being said, it's not that I didn't see room for improvement in High Fidelity -- certainly there is -- I just don't see the point in bashing something that's not yet a finished product.
For those of you who asked about the set: most of what they had yesterday was unfinished pine sheets with signs taped to the front telling the audience what each piece represented. It's not a complicated set, but what they do with the bed and the quilt on top of it is kind of genius (don't want to spoil anything here). Upstage is a platform representing a view of the street and the entrance into the store; downstage, set pieces roll in and out to change between Rob's apartment and the store, mostly (simple stuff like a couch, coffee table and bookshelves). There are, as expected, bins and bins and bins of records . . . and I had to laugh when the front-and-center record in one of them was a Bon Jovi album. I think the guys in that store would kill themselves before they'd sell a Bon Jovi album!
I'd be happy to answer any other questions, just let me know . . .

"Well, if there is strong opposition to one idea, we might be able to stop bad ideas from even happening."
But who is to say what's a good or a bad idea?
excellent point.

I don't know... if we could have stopped something like In My Life from happening, would we not have?
Personally, I'm thrilled In My Life happened. I've never seen anything quite like it in about 35+ years of theatergoing. To see the unified vision of one crazy man on such a grand scale was a unique opportunity.
After reading through this thread, I discovered there are some rude people on this board who need to be nice to their fellow BWW posters and friends.
Anyway. I know that Will Chase and Matt Caplan are *very* excited about the show. I am, too. I am glad to hear that soneone has seen the show recently and found it fun
Wish I could get the CD sampler.
A hit??? I think you are forgetting the "s" in that word.
I am going to be a skeptic and wait till the show comes out to pass any judgement. I did see the song that was done for Broadway on Broadway and it wasn't bad. It wasn't great but it wasn't bad. I still don't know why they needed this show to come out in the first place
