Bill Kenwright met Maria Carey 2 weeks ago when she was in London and talks are now back on to bring her to the West End stage at the end of this year or early 2010.
A number of years ago there were many false starts in presenting her at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in the old Terrence Rattigan play 'The Sleeping Prince'.
This again is the rumored play for her debut.
The piece is famous for the film version that starred Marilyn Monroe, she bought the rights of the play and made the film, renamed, 'The Prince And The Showgirl' with Laurence Olivier.
The last time it was pulled was due the closeness of its opening date and Carey getting last minute stage fright.
Kenwright was days away from the announcement.
