Don't see a thread for this, but was notified today of next seasons line up for the 2018/19 Broadway Season. The 7 shows are:
Dear Evan Hansen
The Colour Purple
Waitress
School of Rock
Cats
Charlie & the Chocolate Factory
On Your Feet
Really looking forward to the first 3, will see the 4th one, and the last three I will skip....but overall not too bad?

I'm excited! I renewed yesterday. The only show I definitely don't want to see if On Your Feet. I can't wait for School of Rock, Dear Evan Hansen, and The Color Purple.

Can I ask why you're both steadfastly against 'On Your Feet'? Have you seen it before? I saw the tour when it opened in September. Had never seen the show and am not a HUGE fan of Gloria Estefan but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I'm thrilled with the line up for next season! Almost all the shows I would love to see, and with Wicked coming back and being a guilty pleasure, I'll have to see that again!

I saw On Your Feet on Broadway and I didn't enjoy it. I thought that while all the actors were working hard and were amazing dancers, I wasn't engaged with the story. For me, a fantastic musical has an interesting story that is seamlessly told by designers, direction, music, dancing, and acting. On Your Feet had the dancing and not much else.
Good to see a lot of shows will be getting second seasons on the road!

And for me I just don't care for her music. Not my cup of tea, so seeing a show based on that material wouldn't interest me. Saw DEH with Ben Platt last year, so thats a tough act to follow, but we will still enjoy the show Im sure. Im assuming none of the incarnations of these shows are touring right now (maybe colour of purple as its in the summer?) Casting etc will be interesting for some of these.
They're all currently touring except for DEH, Cats, and Charlie.

Thanks! Just searched for it, turns out it was announced in May. I’m behind! http://www.playbill.com/article/willy-wonka-will-hit-the-road-when-charlie-and-the-chocolate-factory-embarks-on-national-tour
I wonder why it’s not on this page? They probably just forgot to update it. http://www.playbill.com/article/current-and-upcoming-national-tours

With all these shows coming to Seattle I’m holding my breathe that some of them make the three hour drive north to Vancouver. The last few seasons in Vancouver have sucked so here’s hoping for a better season this year

I totally agree with you. Broadway Across Canada has been very disappointing for years. fingers crossed....

I don't even bother with the Broadway across Canada. Even if they do come (and rarely does anything that great come to Vancouver) the venue is terrible. Its not the least bit intimate. I live just outside Vancouver and have seen probably 30-40 shows in Seattle over the years, and literally 1 in Vancouver, and won't attend another Vancouver show. I would rather make the 3 hour drive and spend the weekend in Seattle and see a show in a much better Venue.

Yes, i agree with you. the Queen E is awful. Acoustics are terrible. Much prefer the Paramount. Will be heading down in March to see Hamilton. That being said, it would still be nice if BAC would change venues as I would like it to have successful runs in Vancouver. Not everyone is able to go to Seattle on a regular basis and I do want to support the arts locally.

Couldn't agree more Canadian in NY. It is unfortunate that there isn't a better Venue. I do go to several shows a year in our community as we also like to support local talent. My wife and I have been very fortunate to be able to go to Seattle 5-6 times a year, and have also been to Broadway 4-5 times over the years as well. We are seeing Hamilton in Seattle next month and are very much looking forward to it.

It warms my heart to know there are others in Vancouver who love broadway as much as me!
