Pitchy? oooh, that's not good.
Yikes...and how has Michael been doing this weekend?
Look, I know Travis is a great singer...but he was not a strong actor AT ALL when I saw him. How was Cory's acting?
Wow...I am more sad about the current Broadway Frankie situation than the Bob replacement (I like Sebastian, actually...)

I didn't really have any problems with him except that he was pitchy - but in a leading role that sings 90% of the show, that's not something I can ignore. He didn't have much stage presence, but it was his first show and I expect he'll grow more comfortable. I hope the lack of tune was a result of nerves. Acting wise, he kind of reminded me of Jarrod Spector back when he was the alternate, so hopefully he'll grow in the same awesome way.
Jarrod. I want you. Deven and Andrew Rannells (or Erich) and Michael Ingersoll can come for the party too. Then get Joe Siravo and put Michael Longoria back as Joey and the cast would be pretty perfect.
I want Jarrod too.
thanks 'its just showbiz', i didn't think he would skip a show but then again, the person looked awfully similar in the dark!
i wouldn't worry too much about cory (though i think travis was a better frankie, imo), it was his first show and i felt that he was very nervous, especially when he first came out. the average theatergoer, i doubt would even catchy the pitchy notes, or rather, the group i was with didn't. he'll improve, i'm sure.

They didn't.
That doesn't excuse it.
The average theatre-goer likes a lot of things I don't.
I'm pulling for him to be great, don't get me wrong.
i understand it doesn't excuse it, but i'm just saying i don't think that it's fair to rip him up over his first performance. i feel he has a lot of potential to improve and i look foward to seeing him again.

"Rip him up" is a little harsh, don't you think?
She's not "ripping him up", she's telling what she thinks. She doesn't have to say it was fantastic if she doesn't think so.

Heh.
I am so tempted to bait MelissaM in an attempt to recapture our Tour Thread glory days, but...maybe later.
Wishing Sebastian a great last day with WICKED (hope Steph can join him!) and a great run in JB :)

Sebastian had a great last performance in Wicked today. I didn't even know it was his final performance until Stephanie J. Block made a short speech at the curtain call.
(Obviously, Stephanie was back in the show.)

when i said 'rip' i was using it lightly, okay. but more in regards to your comment when you said, "Cory is inexcusably pitchy," with no back up. i understand it's your opinion and hey, it's true. but it just seemed a bit cold to me. =]

It's broadway. The least you can do is hit the right notes.
BTW, Daniel's last show is the 9th--asked the man himself yesterday.
I don't think I'll be in the city! This is so depressing.
and finally some OFFICIAL news about his replacement in WICKED
Derrick until the 6th
David from 8th on...
derrick and david as fiyero
Has anyone seen Derrick in the role? I have a ticket for his first night.
I don't remember where I saw him - either on Broadway or on tour - but he was pretty good. Nothing too spectacular.

Found this article about the tailor that makes all the men's costumes for Jersey Boys. It just happens to include a picture of Sebastian during a fitting. I wonder how they're going to deal with his hair.
