This show at the Public starring Idina and Marc Kudisch starts performances in October, but I'm trying to figure out when tickets will begin to go on sale so I can grab a couple in time. If anyone knows, I'd appreciate it! Thanx.

Has the date in October that performances start been announced? I'm probably going to be in the city starting around the 10th and am hoping to catch it.
October 11th- November 20th.
And I don't think they've announced when tickets will go on sale yet.
Have tickets gone on sale for this yet? Nothing is on Telecharge. I'm in NYC during this time and was going to try and see the show. If they haven't gone on sale yet, does anyone know when they do?

Members will have first dibs at the tickets and then what's left will be made available to the public at a later date. I myself am a member and have received no information regarding tickets.

You can purchase a membership to the Public Theatre. Members are offered tickets first. It's worth it.
Just curious folks ... how many shows a week will they do? I'm guessing that it will not follow the traditional broadway schedule of 8 performances a week. Will they just be on certain evenings and the weekends??
Also, due to previous suggestions on this board, I also became a "Member", 3 shows for $135, but you get first dibs at the tickets before going on sale to the public.
Thanks in advance.
I'll have to jump on those tickets.
Oh God,
I hope this show doesn't turn into Romper Room with half the audience under 15 and all wearing "Wicked" t-shirts. She ain't gonna paint herself green and defy gravity people. And neither Cheno nor JLT will be there.
Is there a website for the public theater?

And I assume it will do a regular 8 performance a week schedule, why not?

Oooh there is a very small chance I will be up there during this time. That's exciting!
Just to warn everyone who's a big Idina fan. THis isn't the mainstream material she always does. THis is an art piece written by one of the most abstract and brilliant composers around. I think her fans (not all but most) are in for a big shock.

I'm sure a lot of people are going to be disappointed when she doesn't belt out defying gravity.
I'm thrilled that Idina will bring in a whole new audience for Michael John LaChiusa. I just hope they appreciate his talents, rather than restly wait for an encore of Defying Gravity.
I'd still much, much, much rather see Audra tackle thsi role that I think was largely written for her talents. Idina's rather talented, but Audra McDonald is brilliant.
I am just worried, because her fans (not all, but I think most) are used to hearing a certain "type" of musical. This will be a shock, and I hope they don't trash the musical as crap, just because their tween ears can't handle something complex.
I can't wait. After seeing her concert last night, I'll take anything shes in!
I really have a hard seeing Idina tweens flocking to a LACHIUSA show. And I really don't think LaChiusa would want that, flocks of tweens with WICKED shirts at his show screaming like it's a rock concert.

I don't think the teens that are Idina-obsessed are necessarily well versed in Broadway composers. If they see Idina, they see it. Never mind if it's LaChiusa or Stephen Schwartz.
Just because people like wicked dosent mean they dont have appreciation for good composers. I do!

That's why people are saying MOST not ALL.
