Seeing a show more than once...or seeing a new show?

Always see something new - you could love it. Go with SHOW B.

Give everything a chance once, and then if you have the money, why not go again to the shows that you enjoy?

I say go see whichever you'd rather see. If you're interested in the new show, go see it. If you're not, then go see the show you've seen before. I'd rather guarantee myself a good time than chance being bored to tears, especially with ticket prices being what they are.

Depends on the show. If there was a show I loved I'd see it a few times. If there's not a particular one go for a new one.

I enjoy seeing a show more than once because I love it.

as said before, it really comes down to how much you liked a particular show. like, there are shows i really like, but would not see them again, just for the sake of seeing new shows to sort of "expand" my theatre experience. but there are a couple shows, right now WEDDING SINGER, that i love so much i have to see them again, so yeah

The only chance I have of seeing a show twice is if my Dad wants to see it, if he can get it for half price, and if it's in Boston. Which means I'll be seeing Jersey Boys again really soon.

As many other people have said, it depends on what you'd prefer to see. I'd research the new show - find out a bit about the plotline, what style of music it has, check out the official site. If it interests me, I'll see it. If not, I'm not going to see it just for the sake of being able to say I've seen lots of different shows - I'd rather go to the show I've seen before and I know I'm going to love.

I've had a couple of different experiences of seeing new shows vs. old shows. On the one hand, in the West End, Miss Saigon closed on the same day as Rent. At the time, I was going through my obsessive Rent phase so saw Rent 9 times and didn't see Miss Saigon at all, which is something I now really regret. On the other hand, I saw Light in the Piazza just because it was something I'd never seen before and emerged from the theatre thinking "Huh. I'd rather have seen Rent for the 26th time."

The thing I love about live theatre is that even with the same cast, even with shows just two days apart, you're still getting a different experience. Generally, I'd say to go for the one you've not seen, but if the one you've not seen is something you're COMPLETELY ambivalent about and the one you have seen is something you absolutely adored, where's the harm in putting your $100 in the guaranteed-to-entertain-you-personally option?

If I go back and see a show asecond time somehow the magic is gone. Its never as special as that first time.

If I see a show twice, I usually see it the second time on tour when it comes though Denver. I saw Wicked and Le Miz for the second time here in Denver. When in New York, I always see new shows. The only show I will revisit on my next trip will be "Spring Awakening". I may revisit "The Color Purple" as members of my family in Philly want to see it and I would love to see it with them and I enjoyed the show the 1st time. The only show I wanted to revisit, and didn't, was "Sweeney Todd". I grabbed a ticket for "Hot Feet" instead. Loved the music but that was about it. Wish I had seen "Sweeney" or "Threepenny" instead.
